Default The Hyundai Genesis Coupe GT-V6

My friend's getting one. I have to beat it with my stock 2004 Limited coupe. What are my chances. They seem evenly matched, but he might have the edge off the line. What should I do.

You could take off your air filters and bump up your tire pressure to 60 psi just for the race, and don't forget to reset your throttle. That's 3 things you can do for nothing, I'm sure guys here know of more tricks. Always try to summon up a little common sense when risking your driver's license. Street racing vs common sense, hmmmmmmm maybe they don't belong together. Stay safe

Stick a banana in his tail pipes... like Beverly Hills Cop

On another note, your name; it's no way a reference to the artist Tech N9ne is it? Just wondered

Do not do this. There has been numerous tests showing that taking them off results in such turbulent air flow that is actually decreases performance

They're not evenly matched. The Genesis has a 300+ hp engine, the N/a is 215. I have to think weight wise without looking it up they are close but I think you're gonna get dusted my friend. Save your points for something else.

Having driven the sport V6 model with the manual transmission. It didn't really feel any faster or more nimble than my NA coupe. Run him, there ain't no shame in it.

Motor Trend's May 2009 issue says the Automatic runs 14.0 sec. at 101 mph. and the 6 speed does the 1/4 mile in 14.2 sec at 99.5 mph.
6 speed has a 3.54 Gears, and the auto comes with 3.73's.
If you want to run him just to see how bad he can beat ya, more power to ya. But if your friend is the kind of guy who will never let you forget he beat you.....then I'd just say nah, your faster and let it go at that.
