Default What insurance company do you use?

I have searched a lot of different companies and can not find one cheaper than Geico. I am 23 years old with a perfect driving record, and own 2 cars. I am sure there are some others out here close to my age and I was wondering what you guys use?

Thanks!

Insurance is different for everybody. Age, driving record, credit score, location all play a role in it. What may be cheaper for me may be more for you. Case in point: Geico wanted to charge me $700+ MORE per year than Allstate was already charging me about 8 years ago. I went to State Farm when I bought the Crossfire in April, and my insurance went down to $83.00 per month with the highest level of coverage. I previously was paying $110ish with Allstate to cover my Audi A6. I am 38.

As an allstate agent I can tell you rates differ in different states. Also your credit score, age, sex, driving record, claims history, multiple policy discounts, married or single, type of car, age of car, are some of the factors involved in your premium payments.

thanks for the replies. I understand there are a ton of factors i was just wanting to make sure that there is not one that is known to be low for younger drivers and also just making sure I didnt leave one out.

Thanks for the help!

I'm 21 and after searching around for the best quote I ended up going with Geico for my XF, they quoted me about $20/month less than anyone else.

I'm an Allstate Agent and insure my Crossfire through Grundy. $250 a year full coverage, 0 dedcutibles on Comp and Collision plus towing. There are limitations. Everyone's situation is different only advise I can give you is shop around, make sure you are covered properly. Some people will take real low liability limits and high deductibles and think they are getting a deal when they are really leaving themselves open to problems. I see it time and time again. We don't recommend any less than 100/300/100 liability - un/underinsured. A deductible is what you are comfortable taking out of YOUR pocket to pay for your portion of a claim. You have no idea how many people will raise their deductible to 1000$ to save a few bucks and then complain when they have to pay it when they have an accident.
If you own a home, condo or rent ask about multi policy discounts. If you are a student ask about Good Student discounts as well as Defensive Driver Course discounts. Sit down with your agent and review your insurance regularly, don't assume we do it for you and please don't listen to the guy down the street that tells you he's paying way less. His situation may be totally different from yours.

When I was a little younger and looking for INS I found that progressive's rates for me were great. Then I bought a second car and a house and I get much better rates with Erie. Check them all out, may take a few hours to get quotes from all the big companies out there, but well worth it to save hundreds over the course of a year....

Interesting. I sold my '89 XJS to buy my Xfire. When I called to transfer the policy at Grundy, they said they could not insure it. Now I'm stuck paying $800 a year for good coverage with GEICO.

That's odd, been insured with Grundy since March of 2009. It was $243 last year. They may have changed what cars they will take but I had a buddy I refered to them and they told him no ($40k supercharged RSX) and they explained they do Crossfires because of the limited run of the car. Maybe things have changed and that would be news to me. Have you tried Hagerty's? They run a bit more but that might work for you.
$800 is not terrible, I was paying $1200 with Allstate and had a $1000 deductible on Collision. I understand Allstate is very competitive in your state (Tx).

Erie ins, 34 years old, 100 comp, and 500 collision, under 7500 miles a year, and a fairly good policy WITH THE CAR OFF THE ROAD DEC 1 TO MARCH 1.... $313 A YEAR

On a side note I got a letter stating that since I have been with them for so many years they are choosing to insure the car as a courtesy to me due to its "power to curb weight ratio" and then they tacked on an extra $20 a year to the policy. Keep in mind this is the same company that called my former Merkur XR4Ti a "sports car" once.

Wow you guys are really lucky. I just called my insurance agent.

$2,095 per year. That $456 bucks more than I'm paying now in a 2008 Hyundai Accent hatch SE

Country Companies Insurance Group: $189 a month
-18 years old
-on dads policy. (2 cars and a house)
-Full Coverage
-$500 deductible
-free glass replacement
-$5000 Aftermarket Audio coverage
-One Wreck with previous vehicle on record (split Fault)
-No points deducted from license.

I know there are better policies out there for the price. But i must stay on my fathers policy, because of my age it is not rational to go out on my own policy.

I am with USAA, if that is available to you I would highly recommend it. I am 19, on my own policy, I pay 750 every six months for full coverage. With 100/300/100,500 dollar deductibles. I do have a renters policy though and I get a discount for that. But if you are eligible for a USAA membership I would check them out.

New York has got to be one of the most expensive states. I'm paying altogether$3600.00 a yr. with State Farm, for my 05' xf coupe and my 07'FJ Cruiser. That's full coverage with a clean license, 57 yrs. old and a home owners policy discount, and that was the cheapest out of all the major companies. Geico wanted double that amount. So to all out there with such great rates, consider yourselves blessed.

Yep... USAA rocks. I pay $74 per month for the crossfire with high limits, low deductible, towing and rental. Also have the renters and a yukon on it as well. I got a rock chip on the yukons' windshield the other day and they sent someone to my place on a sunday morning to repair it... no cost to me whatsoever.
