Exhaust won't Rev past 4K RPM in Neutral?

Ia this normal for the car? If not, has anyone had this issue? Bad MAF?

must be a n/a thing. i just hit the gas in gear to smoke the tires. no need to trash the tranny

The ECU won't allow an unloaded RPM > 4,200......called launch control. Allows you to floor the gas, dump the clutch, then you can keep the pedal to the floor and speed shift thru the rest of the gears.

DEFINITELY NOT launch control. This isn't a GT-R or ZR1, there is no launch control. It is set this way to prevent kaboom and elongate engine life....as previously said.

/thread.

I tried to calibrate my GTech at 4K in the driveway and could not do it... both of my SRT's will max out at 3800rpm sitting still.... I didnt consider it a flaw...;)

Re: Exhaust won't Rev past 4K RPM in Neutral?

I appreciate the appropriate responses. I am having trouble with my engine hesitating and it seems like the engine is wanting more air, but Chrysler hasnt figured out the issue. My buddy wanted to hear my exhaust on the car and I decided to rev it for him, but it wouldnt go pass 4k. Was curious if that had to do with engine issues I am having at the moment.
