Default Checking out a low miles '04 stick

Looking at a low miles black '04 manual tomorrow. Any suggestions as far as what to check, observe, ask, &tc...? And price? Thanks in advance for all advice.

If you looking at the one in Fairburn, GA - I beat ya to it!

I'm headed over there in a few minutes.

All the usual used car thoughts apply to these cars.

But some specific things can be found by looking over this forum.
The only two I can THINK of are:

... oil leaking from the valve covers? (Not a big deal, but might help you get the price down.)

... I'll be trying hard to gauge the condition of the clutch (some of these cars have seen hard driving).

I've never had a stick, but it seems to me there was a problem and I THINK it was only the '04 - where it would pop out of gear in 1st at times.

I think there was a recall for it.

Car seems fine except for one thing...it has a funky smell. The dealer said it was a result of the interior cleaning/carpets &tc... and would dissapate. Nevertheless, while the odor is not as bad as the episode on Seinfled-it is far from the "new car smell." Any thoughts from anybody on this?

Anyway--I'm taking it to my mechanic later this week for a once-over.

Check for paint work and WATER DAMAGE!!! I sell cars and to get a "smell" you really have to wet the interior. My question is WHY? If it was low miles like you said, why was the interior so dirty that a large amount of water was needed?

Remember the amp for the stereo is under the seat!
