On the TPMS, I think the minimum should be 35 PSI. Also all 4 need to be at the same PSI (within 1 or so). It might be something as simple as a TPMS reset. I ran into issues where it seems only the dealer could reset it.

They also have batteries in them that do occasionally die (you can't change the battery, you need to replace the sensor). Also, do you have custom wheels, if so, they may have not installed the sensors.

Congrats on your fine choice, enjoy.

Welcome to the forum. Get ready to answer alot of question about your ride.
I stopped for gas this morning and two older ladies were asking what kind of car it was. One asked if I paid around $40,000 for it !! It helped that I had washed and shined it last night, so the Black was Beautiful.

Hi Hunter, and welcome to the forum. Everybody is going to want to know where you're from. Is your car a 6 spd. or an automatic?
One of the first things you should do is check to see if you still have the original battery, if so, buy a new one. It will save you a lot of problems.
By the way, you got the best color.

Welcome Hunter,
You will find this forum a great source of info about your car.
Almost every question that has been asked has had an answer.

The "search" box above is also a great tool to find discussion about almost everything you would ever want to know but feel free to ask also.
Sometimes the "search" feature brings up tons of threads and it can be time consuming to use as well.

Sounds like a good deal on a excellent car !!

Gary

Welcome! I too have the low tire pressure light on at all times but I am running on rims so I believe it was never installed when the rims were put on. Probably just needs a reset if you do not have rims or anything on them. I just bought a Black 04 (I want to say limited coupe?) a week ago so I know your level of excitement. Not saying there is anything wrong with the swap but I'm a little surprised you got rid of the S200 those cars are nice. I hope your enjoying the Crossfire though and like anyone well tell ya good luck keeping black clean lol.

I would agree that the s2000 is the better sports car. The reason i traded it was that i wanted a more relaxed ride. the tq that the crossfire has allows me to have fun in town without really breaking the law. Also my s2000 had 129k miless and was a 2002, the top was starting to wear out and would soon need replacing. so for the same price i got a 2005 67k miles and needs notting. although it want handle as well or corner like the s2000 it makes up for what it lacks in market price and comfort luxury

the -36F on your interior dash means that the ambient temperature sensor has either gone bad, or has been removed...

you can buy a replacement for about $20 from the dealer i think. i would suggest doing this soon, as your ECU is thinking it is -36F outside and most likely dumping fuel causing poor gas mileage and extra unnecessary heat in the engine.

to locate the ambient temperature sensor you need to remove the driver's side lower grill and you should see it sitting about a 1/3 of the way in from the right facing edge. Looks like a game piece from Sorry.

Interesting. My temp used to be very accurate. I used to compare it to the current temps of the weather data. Came in handy during the winter so I would know if the temp was above or below freezing. Now I think it is off by a little. Always wondered where the sensor was so I could check it.

A few years back when I was sports car shopping, the S2000 was high on my list. I test drove one and it was lots of fun. Great performance, nimble handling and very high quality. BUT, you really had to work the shifter and keeps the revs up to exact that keen level of performance.

I took it out on the freeway in rush hour (parking hour?) in SoCal and found it extremely laborious driving in those conditions. When I did get it out on the open road the high RPM drone got very tiring after a while.

The Crossfire is a true GT (Grand Tourer). Comfortable in almost any road condition and can hold its own on the track. A comparo shootout of an SRT6 roadster, Boxter S and NISMO 350z back in 2005 showed the surprising overall winner when all was said and done was the SRT6.

I just completed a 4500 mile journey to St Louis and back to SoCal for Crossfires Across America and even after all that driving, I was more relaxed than I thought I would be even with the slightly stiffer ride of the SRT6.

I don't think I could have done that in an S2000. You made a wise choice for a great blend of performance and comfort. Enjoy!

Hunter, you shouldn't be suffering from "Serious Sports Car withdrawl" too much when you get into the twisties with your Crossfire. It can hold its own.
Living in N.C. I hope you can join 50+of us at the Tail of the Dragon in October. Looks like it's only about a 6 hour drive for ya.

Welcome to the addiction of the Crossfire and it's forum! You can't keep this car out of your mind for too long; and you can't keep yourself out of it either: an addiction.
My best memory of WILSON, NC is catching the Silver Meteor Pullman train to NYC. Ate lunch in a buffet not far from the station about four years ago. A wonderful experience! Come over to the Tail of the Dragon this fall. Colors are better here than in the Piedmont and you'll meet GREAT folks!
