Default Christmas present

My wife got me a 2004 Crossfire Limited for Christmas and I am loving it to death. Waiting for that elusive warm sunny day to take it for a nice long ride. Mine is a hardtop but would like to consider getting a sunroof. Any pluses or minuses?

The car wasn't designed with one in mind, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. I won't do it because you lose the spine that runs the length of the car.

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the forum.

These cars never came with a sunroof but people have done them. I saw one that looked really good... and there was another on ebay that looked chopped up. Not for me but if you get what you like. I personally would love to get a set of louvers But there are people here that would laugh at the thought!

I have seen photos of one that had a sunroof put in. Like 13 stated, the look, just wasn't there. Welcome aboard, and punch in "sunroof" into the search feature. There may be something there.

Welcome and wow what a Christmas present. The sun roof would not be for me because of the design of the center spine but I do recall seeing one on the forum that looked much better than the others. As suggested do a search and see what you think. After all it comes down to what you like and want. Enjoy the coupe and the forum and think about joining us at the spring Tail of the Dragon.

Remark makes me think back to the crazy thread on colors and the fact that white isn't a color

I got a kick out of that thread. Frankly, there really aren't any Crossfire "colors" I don't like ---- but then again there aren't any crossfires that aren't in color (black and white ) that I don't like either.

Great gift. I had to buy myself the gift though --- but I did get approval form my wife.....................

Enjoy the car.

itsky, I live in southeastern VA (Newport News). I had already seen some of the replies to older posts about sunroofs and am still trying to decide whether or not to pursue getting one. I guess it comes from the fact that i really like convertibles and what i got is not a convertible. Otherwise, it is an awesome car.

There was a XFire Owner in VA that had an Oyster Gold Coupe that he installed a Hollandia sunroof in (along with Lambo doors). I'm fairly certain the sunroof was the Hollandia 300 Series model (tilt & slide). (Note: He sold the car last year, but you may be able to identify him with a Forum Search. You could then contact him via Private Message to discuss.) These sunroofs are high dollar & worth the price. Probably a professional dealer/installer somewhere closeby that you could discuss the possibility of an application.

I've attached brochures you can look over.

Thanks for the links...I will check them out. I don't want to ruin what I have but if I can get a little sun in the coupe that would be great!

Rogbro, you very close to the Tail of the Dragon (compared to me). If you want to meet some cool folks, I would highly recommend visiting in April. I have been there a few times myself with other fellow XF owners and they are a great bunch.
