Ok, I admit it. I'm afraid of them.

I would never openly street race another car but I do try to get the jump on other cars for a freeway ramps etc.

Not with the Mustangs.

Unless it's a 1977 Mustang II, there's no telling what's been done under the hood.

What's more, after renting a new Mustang GT in Santa Barbara yesterday, I figure it would absolutely blow the doors off my 265hp Roadster. I've driven a couple SRT6's and it feels as strong or stronger than those.

Anyone out there comfortable tangling with them?

I had a 05 and 06 V6, there is a supercharger kit for them but it still wouldnt cause them to make a threat. Believe me, the V6 is not as fast and I know my na could take it, BUT now with the 2011 v6 pushing 300 hp you got a problem.

perhaps its better to just let others get around you, no matter what they are in people can get the rage going

I've been on the same track with a 2011 5.0 with the track package and it's the real deal. Just to give you and idea, he outran 2 GTR's by a second. The guy is a real experienced driver and the GTR's owners I ...... you can speculate. But he passed them on the main straight. More momentum or not coming off the corner, the car is strong.

If it's a sedan? Screw that! I'll smoke em. I didn't buy that car to drive like a weiner...though there are some pretty fast sedans out there now as well.

I do it all the time, and blow them away all the time. The car doesn't matter, if the driver doesn't have the balls to push it.

I've stated this a hundred times....for the $$$$ to HP....you can't go wrong...others have to spend a lot more $$$$$ to pass these little jewels....so what if you beats you....you have a lot less investment, and he certainly isn't going to run away and hide...you will be "right" there....

Pure vanity. I'm as vain as a peacock in this car. I'ld rather not race than lose then make him wonder what's under the hood.
It's still a lost opportunity to hit the onramp at 100mph.

At the end of the day, it's still a Mustang. One of billions on the streets.
