you mean sales taxes?sales tax is by $ spent we don't pay propety tax on cars here!Multiple car discount on insurance! It would be about $1000 more ayear but you do have twice the fun and not aGIRLIE LEXUS.
I think the Lexus line of cars are nice but the thing that I don't see is the price. I just don't see the money they're asking for them. IMO there are a lot of other high end cars that go for aroung the same price range and I can see it ( MB or Cadillac for example or BMW even). I just can't see that kind of money for a glorified Toyota... But that's just my opinion and there are a lot of Lexus cars on the road so it's good for Toyota that there are people that disagree with my assesment.

WMichaels -
Actually as a Lexus ES330 owner here is a post that I can add with some driving experience. The Lexus line is beautiful and, particularly in Korea, extremely well supported. Service is simply fantastic. Our sales representative comes to our home to get the car for service. The car is returned within the day.
When we purchased the car, the Lexus dealer gave me golf bags and sports gear. I told them I don't play golf then they asked if I wanted golf lessons too. I haven't had the time. As for the ride - it is one big beautiful boat. It floats down the highway. Passengers and drivers are incased in a quiet driving environment - it is a boring car to drive. It reminds me of my old 1953 Belair Chevy; now that was a car.
Really the Lexus ES300 is a wonderful car those who do not like to drive - my wife for example. But if you like the feel of the road, and if you want a 4 door sedan, look at the IS300. I have not driven the sport roadster, but for the price there are several other cars I would prefer. One Lotus Elise - Crossfire SRT-6.

In 91 the first year for Lexus I had a 300E MB cpe. I wanted to drive the new model and went over to the new Lexus dealer that also sold Caddys. On the test drive the LS400 sedan fully loaded with Nakimeci ,Traction control, all opts, was $42k.My cpe 300 six cylinder no nak,TC,or 32 valve v-8 was 0ver $50k list.I traded it that night! No comparison .Now the Lexus line has become in price closer to M.B. and Jag,BMW.And i don't care for their appearance.
