fan problem
 

hi fist time in the forum

2005 crossfire radiator fan always on at full rpm after 5-10 min

cold and a/c on fan run 54% on the scanner and the engine require 0 %

normal temp a/c fan require 94% engine demand 0%

i change the switch on the drier i suupose bad reading ... like ok after running and road test but costumer return with fan run like a boing 747 in front off the garage door

service the a/c system due to change switch good a/c capicity

try to diagnose the problem

not a lot off crossfire in my garage

Sounds like you are talking about the ENGINE fan - most probably the Fan Control Module on the driver's side, under the hood. The ECM is supposed to tell the FCM how fast to run the fan, but in this example, I'd say the FCM is probably bad.


One caution: I've been here 2 years, not sure I have EVER heard of a FCM going bad, but anything can fail.

and i have no check -engine light on but i have a P0480 check with the scanner

If I read your posts correctly, the A/C is blowing cold, and no issue with Temp readings, so overheating is not the issue.

The Fan is just running at max speed always.

I would also go with the FCM, or possibly a wiring issue, like a short to ground, keeping that Fan running at full speed...

Quite a few posts on that module failing. Fan goes at 100% when it does.

180, your point is well taken.

Didn't realize the Fan has a tendancy to run full bore, when the module is possibly failing.

If that's not the cure, the only other thing that comes to mind is wiring (like a short)...

Ya learn something new eveyday here...;)

i call my dodge dealer today and the parts is 549.00 $ # 5102 818 AA

it's normal price for this parts :confused:

Your Dodge dealer will buy it at a Mercedes dealer, put it in a box with their number on it, mark it up 100% and sell it to you.
Now you will charge your customer that and he gets ripped off. I can see you making a living but we do not want Crossfire owners paying too much for a part from Chrysler.

The part you get will have the Mercedes part number on it, the Chrysler part number will only be on the box.

I haven't been around here enough lately to notice. I remember seeing a lot of talk about fan MOTORS going bad, but not the modules.
$549 is insane.

i found the problem

after searching wiring diagram ........... and check the car why fan blow like boing 747

the radiator fan was change to another garage

customer said to me car was over heater 2 time

and the fan was plug wrong way


cause a/c pressure to raise to 300 lbs on the high side and request the cumputer to speed up the fan to keep pressure down was not working due to fan shoot the hot air off motor radiator to the condenser
