History of your Crossfire
 

Did you purchase a used Crossfire and would like to know something of its history? You can go to Chrysler.com or Dodge.com (easier on Chrysler) and click on the "Owners" section. Create yourself an account and you can register your vehicle by VIN.

You can now see a service history of the car every time it went to a Chrysler dealer or service.

The registration is only good if one took their car to the dealer. I have learned from the forum, xf owners have had to learn to do it themselves. I pulled mine, I'm now the third owner and there is no service history of a car that has 39k miles. Another interesting thing, I spoke to my mechanic, not sure if he was blowing smoke up this girls xf, however he said the car engine is benz and bmw and I think he used the word hybrid! I think I will just jump in my PT until my tags come in and take a cruise and get a six pack, and come back and read the forums. Oh what fun! lol

No BMW in this car. Most of it is parts sourced from Mercedes, and a handful of things from Chrysler.

The Nissan dealer I bought mine from thought it was made in Alabama.

It was made in Germany...it's right on the driver's door where is was manufactured...I don't think I would buy from the Nissan dealer...lol... I haven't found anything Chrysler on this car...the designer's seemed to be under contract at the time, and finally Chrysler/Daimler agreed to build it, and assigned engineers to follow thru with it's production. The contract was given to Karmann and they built it. A lot of the vendors, all so far as I know were European. I always find it interesting in these conversations the percentage of what is German and what is American is always a different number... Does anyone really know? Like I said, my tires aren't even USA made...but a USA manufacturer. Chrysler is a USA manufacturer, but they didn't make this car...so does that make it American...LOL...Always love this debate...It is what it is...

Makes sense to me.
The Crossfire is a quality car, and anything of any quality is made in Alabama .....

The real history that you get from a "more than one car" owner comes form the "carfax" The only history would have from Chrysler dealers if they did the maintenance at the dealer because it is under the Warranty.
Correct? At least the carfax will pick up any "dealer" work-on if they are connceted to the Governments watch list of Auto -Mantanence.

My car came with a piece of official looking paperwork that stated that the car was assembled from 100% German parts.

My 2004 original window sticker says 1% US/Canadian and 80% German parts. An example of the rest; I have read that the headlight assembly was made in either France or Belgium.

There is no way that any car made today, or the last 15 years, had a single source country, unless maybe if it was a Chinese or Indian car.
