the car was white green and black when I got. I washed it throughly so now it white again. When I had the spoiler assembly removed from the vehicle I lean out the drains, which were heavily clogged.- I’m leaning towards the down limit switch as the culprit. However I haven’t had time to run the proper diagnostics

Hi. I have a 2005 coup with spoiler stuck in up position. The trick of opening and closing the hatch before using the override switch used to work, but no longer does. Battery may be old. I read on line about a microswitch replacement, but it was for later year models. Also any information on the small tool and how to manually retract it might be helpful. Thanks!

I think you may have solved your problem when you said the battery may be old.

The spoiler is an early warning system for a weak / failing battery.

Ditto on last two replies, quite possibly an old battery... :)

i found that my problem was the cooling fan inside the ecu box shot. Causing the the back fuse to keep blowing taking out a wide range of functions for the car. I removed the ecu fan and replace the fuse and it works perfect.

How did you end up checking that specific fan?

That's a new one.

Thanks all. My battery was actually less than a year old, but it did discharge over the summer in storage. However, I threw it on the jump box and was able to cycle the spoiler right down.

 Curious, did you replace that fan in the bottom of the box? That fan keeps all those electronics cooler in that box, with air from the cabin.
