Thought I'd just say hi. Just got rid of my beloved MX5, and bought myself an 06 Coupe in grey with 25k on the clock. Condition of the car is 'as new' inside and outside. The car is awesome, just can't stop smiling.

Only thing is a bit of creaking coming from the back trim. Anyone had similar creaks that they've fixed? Anyway it's great to be here and looking forward to the forum and many smiles in he crossfire

It could be the hatch is not tight enough, it tends to make a noise when you hit a bump. Welcome to the forum.

I'm from the UK, near Manchester, crossfires are fairly rare here, so was out today and got lots of admiring looks

I had creaking in the rear of mine, found it was the adjustable rubber piece on the side of the tailgate which was rubbing on the inside of the tailgate opening and caused a slight rusty patch. I put a piece of tape over the rust (till I get chance to get it painted) and it cured the creaking straight away.

Welcome to the forum, Slim. I, too, moved to the Crossfire from an MX5 (Miata here in the Colonies) and never looked back. Mine';s a weekend toy, and I kept the soft top for those rare (!) sunny days here in California.

There was a TSB for the creaky rear hatch. I think they replaced the U-shaped catch on the rear deck (boot?). I accomplished the same thing by wrapping it a couple times with fabric electrical tape to reduce the movement of the lock and catch.

Welcome Slim,

the cure is like Goldwing said,,,wrap the latch hook where the hatch closes to wrap it with elect tape ,,get a piece about 4" long and wrap it tight around the U shape catch, ,,when you close the hatch it should have a new closing sound to it . this way you don't have to adjust anything. jim

Your a star!!! The tape did the trick...creaking gone....crossfire is fab:)
