I already have a problem and have to bring in to the dealer this week. This is only the second week sinced i leased the car. When i'm in 1st gear at around 2500 rpm and I press the clutch in in makes a loud clunk noise towards the rear of the car. It doesnt do it as much in the higher gears. And it cant be a driver error becasue im not shifting im just pushing in the clutch. I called and described it to the service department and they have agreed to put a new clutch in. If any of you have any ideas what this may be or have any suggestions, please respond.

 

1st to 2nd gear shifts made a clunk sound when it was new and was a known manual tranny thing - not sure if you are talking about the same clunk but I no longer have it.

If they have another manual on the lot then drive it to see if it is the same, if not then replace it.

Thanks for the info. I dropped my car off a little while ago to get the new clutch installed first thing tomorrow morning.

 

Yeah, I had the same clunk... It was pretty bad when the car was cold but it eventually went away... now I have 7000k miles and no problems.. Hope all goes well with yours
