Maybe I should try gluing some rubber strips on the bottom ?
I had the same problem as my garage floor is highly polished and even the rubber grip grips on the bottom of the ramps don't help. I drilled in a couple threaded expansion anchors into the concrete and just bolt a 1 ft long 2 by 4 to the floor in front of each ramp when i use them. This stops them from sliding. I keep them stored under a workbench when not in use and just leave the bolt attached to them.

This impresses me.

And just so you know, I am the same - when the guy put my new tires on, NTB charged me $110 in all. Not bad, but the guy had worked 12 hours that day and was headed home when I walked in. I told the manager I could come back another day -but he would not turn me away and asked the guy (nicely) to work another hour.

I tipped the guy $30 - because he was doing a job I can't do, and I appreciated it.

Which "local garage" do you use?

Parkway Service.....over on about 80th & Parallel in KCK. They've been doing my oil changes on Fred and Wilma for the last 3 years....I provide the products and they just charge me labor....oil change ...about 15 bucks.. I've also had them install a fuel filter & a steering damper......
