My daughters crossfire...
I found a recept in her car when examining it. It is for a relay, #509907AA. The cost was $345.60. Any ideas as to what this is?? This forum is a wealth of info. Wish I had more time too troll around here for more....
I notice the wall like structure that is behind the seats and realize there is a "tub" around the occupants. Is this wall part of the structure of the car? Is there a cut away or drawing of the frame work of the car here on the forum? I am very impressed with the rigidity of the chassis. It would appear to be a very strongly built cabin..and chassis. I ordered up a new set of Continetal DWS tires for it, as many here feel this is a great tire for this car. Unfortunately for the car it snowed here...and it will stay inside for a while. Meanwhile I will play with the Snow Trac ST4... Regards, Kirk |

Re: My daughters crossfire...
And if they did, that is a good thing as they all will eventually fail.....behind the seats is the fuel tank. Structurally you can't find a better 2 seater for safety. Many have survived a crash in these cars..pretty bad crashes and saved their occupants lives...

Re: My daughters crossfire...
The car is solid, especially the roof, trust me ;)

Re: My daughters crossfire...
The Crossfire was built on an existing platform. That "wall" is a remnant of the Mercedes SL convertible, and is part of the platform. It is there to make the convertible structurally rigid.

Re: My daughters crossfire...
Thanks for the replies,
I was kinda hoping for a ghost view or cut away of the cars structure, as I am curious as to how it is built. I have never driven anything that felt more rigid than this car. This afternoon is is going into a tire shop for new Continental DWS tires, at the suggestion of members here who drive on them. We shall see.... The relay issue is a good one to know about. Wish I had the old one they replaced to play around with... Best regards, Kirk |

I thought I had a cutaway picture somewhere, but these were all I could find at the moment.
