am reception problem from window tinting
 

As so many before...I've been checking in for many months and read with interest the comments of those posting to the forum. I'll invoke the "This is my first post" excuse since I'll probably post this question in the wrong place (actually, I thought I might get a quicker response here).

I recently had my windows tinted and they look great but encountered a problem with the am radio reception. The installer told me he would reorder window film that would be compatible and permit am reception. Took the car back today for the new film installation and just now got a call from the installer telling me the reception is still poor. Does anyone know of a window film that will work on the rear window and not impede am reception? And, if so, what is the name of it.

You could try getting a reception amplifier. I don't know how well they work, but the one I found on Crutchfield is fairly cheap. I may try one myself soon.

It sounds like they are putting a metalic type of tint on the rear window - that would probably cause the issue...
