Will 245 40 18 tires fit on the front
|
Re: tires
I think they will - but unsure of the handling you'll get.
There are a LOT of tire threads, you might snoop around here: Wheels, Brakes, Tires and Suspension - CrossfireForum.org and see what others have done. MANY of us are running wider, larger tires on the rear (I run 285/25/19) and LOVE the cornering and slight slower cruising rpms. I'm just unsure of how it will handle with those up front... |
Re: tires
Its a daily driver. I want to know if I will have rubbing problems with 245 40 18 on the front. I have 255 40 19 on the back any good combinations for that

Re: tires
I REALLY think they won't rub. I just cant' say for sure.
If no one chimes in by morning, or you are in a hurry , go look around in the forum I showed you and see what people are getting away with. I know my 285's in the rear are FINE, even in heavy turns at speed. But I DO know that guys have had tires rub up front, it SEEMS, a lot - but those were lowered cars, if I remember right. I've never used anything but OEM size up front. |
The place that rubs first on the fronts is the suspension bolt on top of the wheels. The stock distance is about 1/2" (give or take). You might get 235 in there, but no way 245. The only way to get 245 is a 10mm spacer.

Re: tires
I ran 245 40 18s for autocross with a 10mm spacer. Didn't rub on the top bolt, but under hard cornering & braking I did rub the plastic fender liner. With 10mm hubcentric wheel spacers, shouldn't be a problem as a daily driver.
