a ton of crossfire's sitting on my local dealers lot...
Re: a ton of crossfire's sitting on my local dealers lot...
Thank god by the time all those Crossfires sell, it will be 2007 and my lease will be up. Actually its crazy the lack of interest in owning one.
Why is it we all get nice comments and compliments on our cars, but nobody wants to actually own one?
I think a lot of people think the Crossfire is more expensive than it really is, to be honest.

When I was picking up my loaner, (see: wrecked my crossfire) I was at lapeer road marshaling center (chrysler employee leasing) and there were probably close to 60+ crossfires sitting around.. many had been sitting for some time by the look of the snow build up on them...

Same here in Colorado, that's why I'm the newest owner of a Xfire Limited. The sales manager couldn't cut me a deal fast enough, way, way below invoice. They had 3 roadsters and about 6 or so others, timing was right.

FYI: from Industry Magazine "Automotive News..." as of December 1, 2004....
Average "Days Supply" of New Cars/Trucks in America: 81days (highest in 10 years)
Japanese Dealers Average: 56 days
Highest American Manufacturer: GM with 101 days
Highest Vehicle: Chevrolet SSR with 301 days supply
Crossfire: 286 days supply (includes all versions)
Ford Thunderbird: 187 days (Ford stopped production earlier)
Nissan 350Z: 123 days
As a rule, manufacturers do not want more than 90 days supply of any vehicle. So there are about 3 times as many Crossfires on dealer lots as Chrysler intended.

For Sergio44:
Welcome to the XFire world! Your build number is determined by the last 6 digits of your VIN, located on the drivers side dash (from the outside looking in the windshield.) Mine, for example is 003409, which indicates it was the 3409th Crossfire produced.
The 0-60 times for base Crossfires (including the '05 Limited) are generally in the high 6 second range, around 6.7 seconds or so. The SRT Version has a 0-60 of about 5.4 seconds, according to Motor Trend Magazine.
Enjoy your Crossfire and this forum, and set your "signature" for the forum to tell us where you are from and what Crossfire you have.
Merry Christmas!
