If defected tires they should replace them at no cost.

I had one blow in one year but it did occur within the first month and a half of use. Early on there did seem to be a problem with early tire failure with the Michelin tires but that problem seemed to go away by last spring. If your ride is an early number issue you may be into this problem. Otherwise if your tire pressure gauges are good then I would just call it exceedingly bad luck and find a different path to take to work.

It's got to be either bad luck or a bad batch of tires as Uncle Al said.. Within 2 weeks of getting my car, I got a screw buried deep in the tread (Michelin tires). I took it to the dealer because I have the tire road hazzard policy. They took the screw out and monitored the tire for a few hours. There was absolutley no leak and the tire has performed great since then.

How many miles on your car ?

Hit any potholes ?

How many miles on it when you purchased ?

maybe someone else hit potholes before you got it ?

Just wondering

thanks for all the responses. michelin have me a policy adjustment on the first tire, which helped pay for the second time.
Hit any potholes ?
i drove the route i had taken on 1/10 and found the road was washed out on the right hand side, which probably attributed to the blowout (even though i was only going 30). however the new tires on my car look better than the first ones (shinier). i found a tire dealer in inglewood california who was so very helpful.

2300 miles on the car now, 220 when purchased. everyone involved agreed this was strange to happen within 7 days. considering all that is happening in los angeles at this time, i am grateful to be alive. i think the side walls were weak, but now all is okay.

be careful out there.
