Pervious Cars!!
Man, I really don't think I want to reply to this thread. I never felt so poor in my life.....
1985 Nissan Pulsar NX
1991 Pontiac Bonneville
1997 Saturn SC2
2004 Chrysler Crossfire
and 2002 Suzuki SV650s
The Crossfire is the closest thing I have ever had to a new car, at 9 months old. Pulsar was 8 yrs old when I got it, Bonne was 6 yrs old, Saturn was 3, bike was 1.
No cool cars for me until now, all stock, figured it was about time to say screw it, and deal with the higher payments for a cool car.

Dan, w00t on your el caminos, what trim was the 85, and was the 67 BB powered?
My passion for el caminos is as strong as the wierd VW stuff. Though the El Caminos stay running, my 84 had almost 160k and never gave me a problem. Well except for the the entire car rusting out from under me.

I went through like 4 or 5 trannies and I just felt that sooner or later the wheels were just gonna fall off.. so I got rid of it.. then on the drive to the buyers house the tranny or clutch or something started to go again.. luckily I got it there and got my cash and bolted.. I'll never own a mistu again because that car had so many problems that were not caused by me in any way..
Actually, if I'd met you when you had the Eclipse and were considering getting the kit, I would've talked you out of it! It was all custom hand layed fiberglass, and it was layed way too thin. Luckily all of the panels went over the stock body, so I never comprimised safety or anything, but when pieces starting falling off...well...let's just say it wasn't the prettiest of sites.
It got a lot of stress cracks from driving daily (did I mention I had 19's on her?), then the two front pieces (at different times) fell off. I literally sold the car in 3 pieces (the 2 in the trunk) and the car itself...and I still managed to make money off of it!
Poor guy - when I met up with him to give him the title the car looked awful as he had taken it on a road trip, my heart sank!
I've been pretty anti-body kit after that. Before it was sponsored and built that way, it was a blast to drive, it was originally red, with some nice side skirts, nice 18" Konig wheels (painted) white and white grills in the front, it actually was quite the looker. Ah...the good old days. I don't think I've ever forgiven myself for putting my Mitsu through that!
Oh man, i was an American built car driver once upon a time - never again though;

Hey Bullseye,
I'm still trying to figure out your picture. Exactly how many body parts are there?
As far as the Bimmer and the Vette go, I guess I'm addressing the whole car as a package. I NEVER had half the comments on either car as I do on the Crossfire. The Vette and The BMW were faster, but for me thats not everything. Lets face it, the ultimate is when someone comments on your car.
The M roadster got tighter ( interior wise ) the more I drove it. At 5'10" and 175lbs, I'm a pretty average sized guy. I probably had 6 or 7 visits to the service department in the first year. The plastic back window looked like **** ( scratched ) after one year. And after spending 45K, I sold it for 32K after 2 years ( so much for Bimmers retaining their value! )
The Vette was way fast with a horse buggy ride! It was over done with computer high tech toys which grenaded after one week. At 52K it was weird to have a manual convertible top! I actually only owned it for two weeks and made the dealer take it back.
To each his own, but for me the Crossfire has been a perfect fit. It still snaps heads after almost two years!

Thats is a full body shot, then a portrait of her face resting on her arms.
I loved my 99 Vette, hands down over the crossfire. And I thought the ride was better on my vette. M roadster is a nice car though. Don't know where I was really going with that.
