My car developed a rattle the other day and took it to the dealer this afternoon to get it checked out. It turns out one of the cat convertors has a problem and is rattling. But I had no idea the XF had 4 of them!

Anyway, dealer doesn't have any exhaust part numbers for the XF!!!!! So I'm waiting for them to call me back with details so it can be booked in. Damn, this is going to cause me problems selling the car..

 

I'm sure anyone interested in the car would understand, just tell them that the part is under warranty and will be replaced by the dealer.

Do you have people looking at your car now or is it on eBay?

Yep, it's got two pre-cats and two main cats. They're fairly high flow, but still present a restriction in the flow.

 

Wasn't Lord Nikon offering a conversion last year to remove two of the cats to improve air-flow? I think this would still render the car 'legal'.
