Angry tread wear problem with my Continentals

The rear Continental tires on my Crossfire are wearing out very quickly. The original tires went BALD at 6000 miles and now the replacements are doing the same thing. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've noticed my continentals to be wearing faster than I would have liked, but at 6800 miles now, they've still got plenty of tread left.

I've got 12K on mine and they still look new. Are your tires wearing evenly across the tread?

Even driving like a crazy man, quality tyres should not be wearing out that quickly. I'd be checking the suspension geometry of the car, the wheel balancing (do you notice any vibration at high speed / under braking?) or the wheel alignment. How are the brakes wearing, and are you still on the same set of front tyres?

Sounds like something you should get the dealer to check.

I've got 1,000 miles of "hard road-course time" and 8,000 miles of general driving on my Continentals and they still have a decent amount of tread both front and rear, to be safe on the highway. Although they will need to be changed before my next road race since the sidewall tread is worn completely.

I'm sure there's something wrong with either the compound of the tires or the caster / camber of your rear wheels.

12,000 on mine and they still look like brand new.

I have agree, you need to get to the dealer to check it out. My tires have hardly any wear and are doing great.

I had the alignment checked today and it is out of alignment and thought to be that way from the factory. The dealer is hoping that Chyrsler will pay for the alignment and new tires. The saga continues....

My rear tires lasted about 25,000 mi They were $$$$ So I noticed that the rear tires will spin and you don't feel or hear it. I;m much more careful.

At least they acknowledge there is a fault that has been there since the start. Sounds like this could work out for you (apart from the inconvenience of having the car in the dealer again!)

Hope it all gets straightened out without costing you anymore $$$

canham,

My front end was out of alignment from the factory. Chrysler paid for the alignment and new tires and a rental car while waiting for the tires.
