key doesn't open
 
i just got this coupe limited on 4th of july.
when trying to turn the key to open the door, it does not turn. solid.
what can i do?

yes, i can open it with the remote, but would like to do it mechanically, as is supposed to do.

I have to jiggle mine a little. Maybe a little lube. Does the key open and lock the glove box ?

I use WD40 , but there are lubes just for locks.

but, has anybody faced this situation? thats what i would like to learn. and if so, how was fixed.
and what if the battery of the key dies and cant open the door to start the engine?
thats why my concern.

Have you tried KY Jelly, that should open ALL locks!!!!;)

Glad the WD40 worked! I would wait a few days or a week and consider putting a dry lube into the keyhole after the WD40 evaporates. I like the DuPont Teflon Lock Lubricant. Link below. It's a dry lubricant and once the carrier evaporates, the Teflon powder coating is left to keep everything working smoothly. A dry lube might not attract dust/dirt like a wet lube would.

I have to agree with KeithTexas. WD40 gets gummy overtime. It does work but you will have to reapply every 6 months to a year. The Teflon sprays work great.
