Default Installing CTD-Germany chrome door handle cover

I just received mine today and it's not really the exact one that I expected because it only covers the hollow portion behind the door handle.

My next question is how to install it? Do I need to remove the door panel and then the door handle to be able to install it?

I would prefer to have those door handle chrome shells than this one! The CTD-Germany site description of the item is very misleading.

From CTD-Germany Website:

This stylish door handle cover are made of chrome plated stainless steel. With the 3M Redliner tape, they are easy to install and gives a excellent look. Set of 2.

Group: Exterior
Product No.: CTD-C-E11012

in order to install your new chrome inserts... you most likely will have to remove the interior door panel to gain access to the screws/bolts holding exterior door handle in place.

there is an allen screw under the handle when you pull on it... but if you unscrew it... the spring handle will retract and you will then have to remove the interior door panel to reattach it.

"easy to install" is in the eyes of the seller....not the installer.

Do not remove anything...pull on your door handle and the piece will slide into position. You cannot place the piece without pulling the handle to "almost open".

Cyril...Please...do not remove anything...no need.
Install should take about 5 minutes per side.

I believe you DontShoot. No need to remove anything and it does take only 5 minutes of your time to install the shell. Thank you very much!

You have to pull the door handle out to a stop and then insert the chrome shell cover with a little wiggling to get it all in.

Cyril...glad I could help. I have the "chrome" grill, mirror covers, and the windshield wrap around, all from CTD. Really changes the look of the car. Last time I had the care in for service, a salesman came over to me and said "hey, don't park that close to the new ones". He smiled, but I don't think he was really kidding.

BTW...I also have the insert. heh, heh, took a while to figure it out. Hope you enjoy your X as much as I do. Today marks exactly 2 years from purchase. Odometer reads 8,153. Not bad for 2 years. Enjoy.

How'd you have 8k only when I have 24k now after 2 years? I really love to be in my car whenever I can even if I imposed a once a week drive only and three times a week shine schedule!

Keep us informed whenever you get your hands on those REAL chrome door handles!

Cool Re: Installing CTD-Germany chrome door handle cover

This is something I have also been looking for...CHROME DOOR HANDLE COVERS not inserts. I was thinking about ordering a set from DChrysler and have them chromed. I have seen a pic here on this forum of a Blaze Red Coupe with chrome door handles.

Cyril,

My home is about 3 blocks from my office. Rain or snow I drive my beat-up pick-up. Spring, I walk. Summer, I walk. You get the idea. XFIRE is for the mountains, or the beach. If I find the chrome door handles I like...will let you know.
