Driver's Seat On Passenger Side???

WONDERING IF OUR AMERICAN VERSION xf IS STILL WIRED TO RECEIVE A FULL FUNCTIONING DRIVER'S SEAT... THE BRITS DRIVE ON OUR PASSENGER SIDE... IF SO, THE WIFEY WILL BE VERY HAPPY... ESPECIALLY ON A XCOUNTRY RUN...

THANKS

Re: Driver's Seat On Passenger Side???

It should be pretty easy to do. There should only be a hot and ground wire to the power portion of the seat. The differences between driver and passenger should be internal to the seat. The wire harness plugs might be different, but shouldn't be that hard to wire around. The wiring for the heated seats and airbag sensors (if there are any) should be the same, unless all the seat wiring is combined into a single harness.

Re: Driver's Seat On Passenger Side???

The drivers seat is 8 way power where the passenger side is only 4 way. A right hand drive drivers seat would be 8 way power, and would have the controls on the right side of the seat to go into the passenger side of a left hand drive car.

Re: Driver's Seat On Passenger Side???

REASON FOR ME TO DO THIS IS THAT MY DRIVER SIDE SEAT HAS THE OPTION OF GOING UP AND DOWN.... WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE DOES NOT. I WOULD LIKE THE PASSENGER SIDE TO GO UP AND DOWN TOO... DOES OTHER xf PASSENGER SEATS GO UP AND DOWN AND I GOT THE xf WITH A BUM PASSENGER SEAT???
