I think I posted some time ago, but maybe not. I thought the people getting in town on friday might want to meet at the dam around 3PM on friday. Still plenty of daylight left and beautiful scenery. This gives everyone time to settle in and then meet. I'll post some more as time gets closer.

OK I'm back...sorry guy's, good old Time Warner took their sweet time replacing my fried cable modem.
Bill are you back from your trip? I don't see much new posted here since I got kicked off-line...what's up?
Barb and I will be arriving late on Friday night...hands off to those who don't bring their own to the bar...but I might revise that after a 320 mile trip with her in the XFR...we'll see.

hey just wanted to put this out there due to some interactions ive had with some other folks on the forum lately, if you dont want me to go just say it i'll cancel my reservations. i was really looking forward to this event as a good time away from all the stresses of my regular life, and have stressed myself out trying to get some things together before i went down to show off a lil. unfortunately the biggest stresser lately has been this forum and the way some people act towards me, i dont believe anyone who is coming has outwardly said anything, but that might be because they know i will be there. so im giving everyone a chance to essentially vote me off the island lol. im not looking for a problem and i really dont want one on a vacation, so if there is going to be a problem i would rather avoid it. thanks

Just wanted to check in and make sure all is still a go for meeting at the
Fontana Dam around 10:00am Saturday morning. My wife and I plan to
drive up Saturday morning and meet the group at that time, as it was
proposed as the time and place to hook up. Is this time frame still a go?

Irwin, I can only speak for myself, but I think you're confusing a lot of good natured razzing, and genuine concern for your well being (pertaining to your "mods") as a personal attack. It wasn't. I'm not going to address your obvious "issues" that you have with Johnny Angel, you two seem to have a "history" and that's between you and him. Whether or not someone likes or dislikes what ever mod's you choose to make to your car shouldn't matter. You can't please everybody, nor should you try. Simply please yourself, and enjoy the "props" you receive, and forget about the negative.
I think most everyone coming to the Dragon is coming more to meet their fellow forum members than to criticize their cars. After all, everybodys car is essentially the same, but every member is truly different, and that's what makes this forum so much fun.
I'm not a fan of "Dubs" but the photo's of the wheels that you have on your car did look pretty good on the cars in the ads, and I'd be willing to bet most everyone would enjoy seeing your car, and meeting you.
Don't take everything on the forum so seriously, some people can be tactful, others not so much, just take it in stride.
Enjoy the forum for what it is, a great source of information, and an opportunity to share thoughts on a subject we all find very interesting. Just don't get upset when someone doesn't share your enthusiasm for a certain mod or idea, because if we all liked the same thing, it would get very boring.
Oh, and most importantly, the forum is a great place to meet some really nice people.
I'll see ya at the Dragon.
Mike

10:00 AM at the dam seems to be the plan. Unfortunately, there really doesn't seem to be anyone really in charge of organizing the meet, so it seems to be sort of a meet by consensus. I have not heard anything about any planned route, etc.

My wife and I plan to do the full loop run over the Dragon and then on to Tellico Plains and return on the Cherohala Skyway. I've never been on the Skyway and this will be a good chance to enjoy the drive.

Hey Hey,

Just checking in with the Xfire group.. I'm game for this.. I live in Knoxvegas and go to school in Maryville, so If anyone arrives early and wants to get in an early tour of some of the roads.. let me know.. I will be more than happy to show them around... BTW be careful if you decide to run the gap with a video camera.. not to try to put any fear or drag anyone down, but I have heard of cops ticketing people filming in their cars.. saying that the driver can see the viewer which is technically illegal.. due to it being a T.V. or imaging screen... ohh well.. it is always a blast when I head up there though.. just have to jump through a few hoops...

If you are unable to attend ......Live the dragon in this long video clip with a Crossfire. Turn up the sound and listen to the engine Rev and the tires grip each and every turn !!!

Actually, it was sickening listening to the transmission. Thank goodness I have a manual. But the dragon is incredible.

LOL Danimal, I was thinking exactly the same thing.
I'm sorry, but that video proves the Dragon Tail cries out for a manual.

Hey now...isn't Central Tx having a run on the same day as the Dragon? Are we trying to scare people into the TX run? What gives? Says this former Texan!

I'm lost........there are so many different threads going on the same subject that there is no way to follow what is going on. Can hardly wait for the pictures though.

I will recommend that next year it be listed in the regional section and the number of threads be kept to a minimum.

Lyn and I plan to be at the dam at 3:00 PM. We are also getting in to Fontana Village on Friday. There were several others that also expressed and interest in Friday afternoon as well.
