I spoke with Bill (Silverfox) last week and he said he will not be coming.
He is still dealing with personal issues which he would not go into with me.
He sent his best wishes to all of us for an enjoyable and safe meet.

Does anyone that is going smoke cigars besides me? I'm bringing a humidor

 

I plan on smoking a cigar after slaying the dragon. Each time.

GARY Sign me up for all groups...byt the way I made reservations this afternoon and we will be there...don't expect my wife to participate much and I'm sure she'll be in the room for most runs...camera batteries are charged and a fresh batch of tapes just came in...I'm locked and loaded!

I have seen your work and it is outstanding.
I have noted that you will be riding along with each group at some point this weekend.

 

I have made 50 copies of this page clicky and will have a hand out for every driver attending the meet.
This hand outs will also have maps.
I will be handing these out Friday evening and checking off a list of members attending to be sure everyone gets one.

I also was contacted by the Fontana Lodge Restaurant mgr. today.
He was confirming the approximate head count for our group.
We will have the dinner menu to order from Friday,Saturday and Sunday night.
The breakfast buffet will be available Saturday and Sunday morning.
I think you all will find the Bistro to offer a good selection for reasonable prices.

 

Not that it matters at this point, but in the last 2 Dragon Slayings have the cops been a big problem? Has anyone had "issues" or met new friends in uniform on any of the previous visits? Just curious... I don't plan on being a bad boy, but you never know when you'll get caught with your "pants down" so to speak...

 

This pasted Sunday I gave my car a nice bath and then after a quick drying, a complete clay bar rub down. Several coats of all in one shine lotion topped off with some protective glaze and a few hours later it's looking ready for a road trip. The inside is also all vacuumed and wiped down with some 303 spray. Stoners glass cleaner has maded visibility possible. The tire gauge shows 36 at all four corners!!
We almost have the car packed. I gassed up earlier this evening so that I won't have to stop till we're into Georgia. We should be there thursday evening, friday mid day at the latest.

We look forward to seeing everyone again this year and meeting all the new folks.

I think there was only one that got a warning back in April.....and he was running it alone prior to the group event. Haven't heard of any others. We have seen a couple of 'friends' but that is about it. Now that doesn't mean that they won't get 'friendlier' because they are definitely out there.

 

Have not gotten into the mix before, but I will be up Friday night and Saturday. Got my room.

Definitely Group 3.

 

I'm leaving work now to get some sleep before my thirteen hour Odyssey. I look forward to meeting all of you on Friday.

Valk, You've done a great job keeping this together for Bill. I'm sure he wishes he could be there. We couldn't make it down this time. Have to wait until the next Spring Run in '09.

Barb and I are looking forward to seeing everybody, and we'll be missing Bill (Silverfox) that's for sure.
I know it's going to be "BLAST" and well worth the trip. Our cars were made for this road.
Just remember the 3 golden rules:

1. Be safe.
2. Stay between the lines.
3. Pull over, "and let em pass" if they flash their lights.
