2nd annual Spring 2009-Tail of the Dragon meet - April 3, 4, 5
Gary, just an idea here...
There is a very good chance that Deals Gap Store may sell ice. It is only like 8 -10 miles away. A few cars could make that run to get all the ice we need.
James
PS, if someone can bring a cooler or extra with them, I would be glad to take it with me on the Saturday run. If my wife packs as last year, I won't have room in my car until I get the hotel either.

OK, it's 6 p.m. Sunday night here in Michgan and it's snowing.
Think I can handle a little rain at the Dragon next weekend.

To All Attendees who plan to tame the Dragon this next week:
Please introduce yourself to me and I'll present to you a card to write your memories of the weekend for a keepsake.
Oh, I'll be the lady in a real cool Crossfire.
See the attached thumbnail.

Franc - have you never heard the expression "know when to stop digging your foxhole"? Just say to Cathy "yes dear" and move on.
Edit: here is the weather link and confirms Osofast2 http://www.accuweather.com/us/nc/rob...ler=1&metric=0

We can bring a cooler. We will pack our wardrobe in it , we always have to decide between paper or plastic bags when going on a trip, a cooler will make it easy Maybe the lodge will give us are sell us ice?
Also we have made name tags for every one ,using info on list . Put a xf on tag and tried to match color of your car. They will be in plastic holders.

I'm looking for four or five volunteers with a Coupe to bring Ice Coolers to the meet.
These folks will need to carry the coolers on the Saturday run.
We will be picking up all the ice and cold items for the BBQ in Robbinsville when we make our lunch stop.
I will be sure to get you to the store once there.
It is right on the road we travel once arriving in town
I am unable to transport a cooler down from Illinois as I will have my coupe loaded with all the paper/plastic and dry goods products from Sam's Club near my home.
I just want to have everything we need for the BBQ in advance so I will be purchasing it all in the next few days.
I will post back here and provide ther list of volunteers once available.
This would be a great help to me and for us all to have a great BBQ Saturday night.

We bought a cooler that will fit in the trunk (LOL) of the roadster and still allow the top to go down. I don't think there will be much of that except for maybe on Sunday. I will bring it anyway

That's gonna help the local economy. I hope they work on the weather

The main need for ice will be to keep the meat and sides cold from Robbinsville back to the lodge on Saturday afternoon.
Thats why I plan to get the ice at the same time as the cold foods.
Once at the lodge this ice can then be used for drinks etc.

Michigan has snow all year right?
It does appear that western NC will see a clear Friday and some chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday.
The pool is heated right?
if not, the Bar is open when?

Ugh! We got some snow last night here.
And I was looking forward to driving my freshly tuned Crossfire to work today. Oh well. I'll get enough driving this weekend (I hope)!
