8th Annual SPRING 2015 - Tail of the Dragon GTG-April 3, 4, 5 - 2015
Looks like I'm going to have to get a pair of overalls & gloves & armed with forum advice, pop my own head under the hood......hmm, wonder if they make overalls in Aero Blue! A girl's gotta accessorize all her stuff with the same color you know.
This never gets old. There is something down there for everyone 8-80. There are some back roads the police (disclaimer, as I am a retired LEO) down there they don't patrol. Places you can even get into a little high speed runs, and places so beautiful, you just want to sit and enjoy the view. I went in the beginning spring and fall, and never had a problem finding something new on every trip. I have helped several 2 wheelers, and a few xf's out of the ditch. Worked on cars, waxed cars, washed cars, scared to the hell out of view dumb enough to ride with me, and about puked riding in 32Krazy's Porsche. It is always great reading the reactions to all the Dragon meets. Everyone always has a blast regardless of your skill level. I won't miss another one. I can only do fall though, as spring just doesn't work out for me. Being out on the road truckin' now, schedules really don't exist. You just do what you can do, but if you have that normal job where you can know in advance, then book this vacation. You will never see it all.

BTW. How are the rear adjustable cambers working? were they difficult to install??
Carl,
Rear cambers are working great, no noise, alignment is back in spec, have put about 4000 miles on the car since installing them. Can't comment on clearance for a lowered car, my suspension is at stock height. The new tires seem to be wearing evenly.
News Release today - Dec 3, 2014 @ 11:51 AM
Link >>>Tennessee bans commercial trucks on The Dragon
Tennessee has banned all commercial trucks greater than 30 feet long from The Dragon in an effort to reduce traffic incidents.
In a statement, the Tennessee Department of Transportation said that of the 204 crashes on route 129 between the North Carolina State line and Tabcat Bridge last year, six were fatal.
Only one of those fatal incidents involved a tractor trailer, but officials say commercial vehicles routinely get stuck on the road, causing traffic stoppages for hours in both directions.
Drivers can expect to see new signage advising commercial drivers of the new restrictions by mid January.

I think that the fact that North Carolina recently banned them from going north (even tho the Dragon is not in their state, Hellbender hill IS and is NO place for big trucks) shamed them into FINALLY acting.
State line fence to Overlook in 11:30.
My best time is 13:17.
Jason and Nick did it in 12:20.
Eryk and Mr. Wolff of the Gencoupes have done it in 12:00
....and the best two wheelers can do it in 11:14 to 11:30. (There is a guy, one guy, who did it on two wheels in just over ten minutes... that video will scare you).
So, what you watched was one fast guy on four wheels - and in the rain with tires not gripping worth a damn as well.
