Got back safe and sound Sunday evening...one of the best GTGs I've been to in 5 years...it was so nice to see all my old (and) new friends...it makes the Dragon..A special thanks to everyone on the planning committee for super runs...and special kudos to Mark Christopher for one of the best runs I've had...Again, thanks to all!!!!...Carl....and yes, James, my car is now the same color as yours, all over ...still want those exhaust tips...a trade perhapsLOL!!!

Left the Lodge at 10:00am and didn't get home till 10:45pm (11:45pm Lodge time) - even flying at 504 mph, Gary made it home before I did.

Zip and his Crossfire made it home last night. Rented U-Haul truck and trailer at Robbinsville; both truck and trailer were very good.
I am evaluating the right suspension this morning while it is still up on trailer. From what I have seen so far I think I can get it back on the road, but it will take months for me to get accomplished. I must say all the locals were sympathetic, no sarcasm, I guess most of them have been in the same boat one time or another. Everyone was very helpful and several went out of they way to help me out. The Tennessee sheriff deputy was friendly and gave good advice, no ticket! So, hope to see everyone back at the Dragon next fall, but I won't be chasing Carl !

Like I said, that curve almost got me twice, you get thru hte curve and think ti's over, then it curves again.
If you lose it, there is NO recovery - you are done. In fact, back when we had the long driver's meetings I think I mentioned that damn curve.
I DO know I mentioned it on the radio on more than one hot run - of all the driving up there, that one curve intimidates me more than any other patch of road in the area.
Just so you know, I heard not one critical word said about you from those in our group, not one sarcastic remark - you are one of few in the community that are thought of by 100% of us as "one of the really good guys".

How could you be critical of Steve ? It's just karma, that's all, sooner or later it's gonna bite ya.

Steve,
I just saw the post and not sure what happened. I hope you and your wife are fine. Good luck on getting everything back together.

I was so saddened to hear of your incident but relieved to know no injuries occured
I was told you really maintained your composure well after this occurred and even put a piece of the car on the "Tree of Shame"
Many of us would have cried if this happened to us.
As Mark also said :
"I heard not one critical word said about you from those in our group, not one sarcastic remark
You are one of few in the community here that are thought of by 100% of us as "one of the really good guys".
I fully agree with that and I hope you get your baby back on the road without to much expense
Please keep us posted here somewhere of the outcome and I enjoyed visiting with you this past weekend
My best to you and Jessie
Gary

The ambulance shows its plates but the state/province is not readable, someone should recognize the plate though.
