Default Any update on Chrome Door handles (not the shell)

I read older posts, and wondered if anyone is now making the chrome door handles.

Still no one to offer covers or direct replacements.

You can remove them and have them chromed, or I can arrange to have them carbon fiber coated. Don't know the cost for chrome, but the carbon fiber is $60 per pair. The downside is shipping them and being without them for about 2 weeks.

Most chrome shops will chrome certain plastics, a few do not.

After thinking long and hard, I decided to stay with the powder coated silver. I was going to chase all the chrome, new rims, new chrome grill and side strakes, window panels, etc... but I have done that will my harley and it seems to never end.

In fact the new aluminum grille and side strakes that I am having a hot rod buddy fab up, along with the chrome OEM wings on the front and back will be powder coated a matching silver and then powder coated clear.

I think the silver looks good with the sapphire and will save me lots of $$ from chasing chrome parts. Just my preference.

Last I heard was that people had decided that it was smarter and less expensive to paint the door handles to match the car. I have not done it yet, but I shopped around and got a quote of $120 for painting it red.

If you’re going to paint the handles - I suggest powder coat.

I would think the paint will scratch and flake off in short time with all of the handling. Perhaps if they were clear coated after paint they might last.

SLK320 door handles match the car paint but not sure how they do it.
