Default Which Windscreen?

Now that the summer heat is passing I am in the market for a windscreen. I had a '97 Audi Cabriolet with a mesh screen that worked fine. (I loved that car - blew the tranny in Chicago traffic too many miles 148,000 and too old 7 years to justify the 4 grand repair). So I am seeking advice and council from my forum members. Here is what I have found so far:
Brand/Mnf./Price w/o shipping.
PLEXI
Chrysler $175
Top Down $172
Windblox $78
Windrestrictor $229 w/XF logo

MESH - both are from overseas so conversion rate applies.
Chromedesign $229
Tuningshop UK $355

Couple of ?'s
1 > Is plexi better than mesh?
2 > Windblox and Top Down both go behind the headrests - does it make a difference?
3 > Windblox is the least in price, is it the cheapest? does anyone have 1?
4 > I know alot of you have a Windrestrictor - would you if it weren't etched? if so why?
5 > Have any of you from across the pond heard of the mesh brands? Have 1?
Perhaps I am getting alittle of the top on this, but thats kinda how I am with cars.
Thanks in advance for you advice.

I've got the basic Chrysler one that was worked into my deal when I purchased my Crossfire. It works well for me cutting down the noise as well as the pressure build up around your ears on the freeway when not using it.

I like the looks of the etched & lighted ones but it is a little too expensive for me at this point.

I have the Windrestrictor and love it. You can order custom etching and they are real attention getters.

I have the windrestrictor and feel it's well worth the extra $$. It is made out of polycarb and is fastened to the car behind the umbrella hooks. (no straps on the roll-bar which gives it a much cleaner look). I also have the lighted version which looks great in both day and night time driving.

I have the one from Windrestrictor but I opted for the unadorned version. It's a quality piece and does a good job of reducing the buffeting. I paid something like $192 delivered, using the forum discount.

I have the lighted/etched one from Windrestrictor and would order another if needed. It fits and looks great. There should be a pic in my gallery.

I have the Windrestricter without the etching, it looks like a top notch quality piece - BUT I have no car to put it on. Still waiting for my car to be delivered.
