I am sure this has been discussed -- could not find by search did the Roadster have a standard 6Spd as an option

Yes. Limited Roadsters were available with auto or 6 spd transmissions.
SRT6s were only offered with auto transmissions (as are all M-B AMG vehicles).
Base Roadsters have/had manual transmissions only.
The Special Edition (SE) Roadster has an auto transmission.

 

My SE roadster has a six speed manual..

 

Really? The red one w/SRT wheels? That is the first manual I have seen.

 

It is a SE blaze red roadster with srt wheels, special trim package, etc...One other in town and it has a manual transmission.

My SE roadster is also a 6 speed and one of my neighbors has exactly the same car also with a 6 speed. Actually, I haven't seen an SE with an automatic.

 

I know I should know this, but I'm suffering from "brain freez" at the moment.
But what kind of seats does an SE roadster have?

 

Same as the base roadsters/coupes.

 

Mine came with fabric seats. I acquired and installed leather with power from LKQ. Bolt in, had to install harness. $400

 

So does that mean that the SE Roadsters are essentially "Base" cars that are painted red, and have "left over" SRT wheels?

Are there any other "extra's" included in the package?

 

The side stakes and door handles are silver also, that, plus what you mentioned is about it. The windshield surround remains black, not silver, on this model. The overall look is, IMHO, is pretty striking on a convertible with the black top. (particularly at these prices nowadays!)

 

The rims are not leftover srt's, similar but with black accents inside the spokes. Mines a six speed also. Snow sucks!

 

So aren't you saying that they simply "modified" a SRT rim by adding black accents?

I almost bought one with the standard rims but the more I looked at the SE version the more I liked them. Yea, your right, "left overs", now excuse me while I go vroom, vroom, waaa, waaaa...
