Considering a roadster...
I am very seriously considering a roadster. A few questions:
1) Any leaks with the soft top?
2) How is in winter?
3) Would you buy another?

No leaks at all...take a look at that top...
Never had it in winter weather, but gimme a rain check
Damn right I'd buy another one....
Remember the only thing about this Crossfire that isn't Mercedes
is the badges....

Thanks all. I found an '08 machine grey with the rear windscreen and upgraded (SRT6 style) wheels w/6 speed. It drove nice and I'm trying to convince the wife!

1) Any leaks with the soft top? Had mine since Nov 07 no leaks
2) How is in winter? This is my daily driver. The question revolves around where you live and the normal conditions. I'm in St. Louis and while we didn't have a really bad winter, the car didn't perform well with the stock tires with even an inch of snow (with slight packing); blizaks or similiar may do better. My approach for this year is to use my father in laws old pickup from the farm. I'm in the market for a VW Thing (not too expensive - always wanted one) for next year - or Brat/Baja.
3) Would you buy another? In a heart beat - wish I had the money or need to right now.
I'm also looking for a roadster to replace my '06 coupe, thanks for the info on the top.
Re: winter, I drove mine all winter in VT. Get the best snowtires you can and you won't have any trouble in the snow. The defroster keeps all of the windows clear of snow and ice; the XF is stable when hit by crosswinds in blizzard conditions. The owners manual recommends putting 18" rims on the back that match the front wheels and it worked really well. Plus you have a button on the dash that turns on a small engine water pump and the low speed on the heater fan to keep the interior warm and the windows clear when you turn the car off to go into a store. I did wash the car every week or twice a week, especially the wheel wells and the whole undercarriage to get off sand and salt.

As I'm retired, I spend waaay too much time reading manuals. Popeye, the button is the same one for recirculating cabin air. It says "rest" under the pictogram of the car.See p 133 in the manual.
For winter tires I ordered 4 -18" front wheels from Tire Rack, and installed 4- 225/40 R18 snow tires. I bought Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi tires (made in Finland) because of their reputation here in Vermont. Page 168 and 169 in the manual told me what size to use. The tires cost more than twice what the wheels did, but it meant the difference between sitting out a storm or driving when I needed to.

Drove mine 2 winters now.
The first winter was on the stock Conti A/S tires.......basically, they sucked. Fortunately we didn't have much snow that year.
Last winter we had snow every other day, we actually set a record for snowfall in a year in Michigan. Luckily I had the Goodyear F1 A/S tires on, they worked awesome. I've had better cars in the snow, but the Crossfire is not bad at all considering what it is. On multiple occasions I got caught at work with snow that was deeper than the car was off the ground. I wasn't very happy about using my car's front fascia as a snowplow, but I still made it home!
Would I buy another.......absofrickinglutely!

I have my roadster for a alittle over a year now - it is my daily driver unless it snows.
Top has never leaked and I have driven thru some monsoons
Winter when it snows- use a 83 Olds Toronado roadster for that
Buy another - in a New York Minute- I looked at every roadster made, almost took a 05 Jag - until I drove the Crossfire - it's as much fun and a heck of alot cheaper and even if the dealer is questionable - it's
here in town and not 2 hours away.
Now if someone offfered the Maserati spyder to me - that I would have to REALLY think about

I dont plan to drive my roadster in the winter.
I bought mine used (12K) and the more I drive it the more confident I become with its handling and craftmanship. Due to the terrible re-sale value I'd never purchase one new.
I agree with pretty much everything people have said. If you really search, you can find a brand new one for a great price, but there are a lot of used ones with very little mileage... Either way, the Crossfire Roadster is one of the finest convertibles on the road!
The Chrysler deal was too greedy. It was an '08 that the dealer owner drove for six months. Has some paint chips missing and a few minor scratches. They still wanted to sell it as "new". I passed... Another dealer is supposed to get some used '06 roadsters this next week. One that is black with the cedar interior. Thanks for everyone's responses.

It's a carryover from the SLK and one of my favorite features of the car.
