Who says a Crossfire can't drive in the snow?
 

I've heard so many times that you can't drive a Crossfire in the snow. Time to put that one to rest.

We got a fresh 6 inches of snow today on top of all the other snow we've had recently. With a little weight in the trunk, and a good set of A/S tires, anything is possible.

Truth be told.....I was content to stay at home......but when the mom calls and says she needs a hand, well, you know you have to go.

I find if I have no dead weight in the rear... it slides quite a bit. A manual helps sooo much too. It is those damn yellow lights that get me... I apply normal pressure on the breaks to slow quickly, but the antilocks start doing their thing.

LOL, drive safe!

Mine is sleeping for the winter......start her up 3 times per week and switch spots in the garage......

I'm sure my roadster would be driveable in the snow, especially since I learned on RWD Buicks. But there are too many idiots on the road to take a chance, I don't want to get salt on it, and I have a perfectly good Audi A6 quattro for winter driving.

My son drives his 2007 occasionally, mostly when the roads are clear. Still, our housing development is plowed poorly so I stuck a couple 60# of tube sand in his trunk.

Maybe i just roast my tires way to much.. but i could not drive in this weather! I got stuck yesterday trying to put my car in my driveway!!!

Considering that we're about 15 minutes away from each other.. something I must be doing is wrong!!!

I am not too sure just how much salt they put on the roads around you, But they seem to put it down by the yard in BC. The salt rots out a car in no time flat, That is why I would never drive the Crossfire at this time of year. On the other hand if I could get her out on fresh snow-- Now that might be a total blast:p

Well, all of you must be talking about driving on the flats. Here in Albuquerque we don't get much snow, but even a little keeps my car in the garage because I live on the low end of a slight rise, with the driveway perpendicular to the rise. So to get going, I have to back out of the driveway, swing the rear of the car up the hill, and back up the hill to a resting spot, all while maintaining momentum. At the resting spot, I can then turn around and get a little momentum to make it up the rest of the hill. So if I really need to leave the house, I back out of the garage really fast and hope for the best. So far my neighbors behind me haven't seen me accelerating toward their house, backwards. They might have a thing or two to say about it. :)

I take the option of parking baby for the 6 months of 4 wheeling that we get arround here :D I can see 6 Ski doo's from my driveway, thats winter, fun My Crossfire is warm weather fun :D

That is true right there. I drive mine in the snow... but I would NEVER drive it in a area with snowy HILLS. I was driving earlier and I was on a salted road with no snow on it and I could still feel the rear end just wanting to wag around like a flag in the wind. Might be my tires, but still... on hills I would need to do about 20-30mph just to feel safe. And people zip past me going 50-60 on iced roads. Everytime I wish they would hit a pole...

Tires & junk in the trunk are the secrets.:D

I've been in spots where I was driving the Coupe & got a surprise snowstorm; nothing you can do but score a hotel room or give it a shot!
Now that I've got the wintermobile working & available I just leave the Xfires at home. No sense getting whacked by some other idiot out there.

Even though, Steve, I'd still have my hands glued to the wheel & be driving like an 80 yr. old bride: anxious but not sure just what the hell I'm doing.
