Default New roadster antenna

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for a shorter antenna for my roadster as the OEM one is too long (Ithink). Have you installed an aftermarket one like that one :

TVT has 2:

I have the 16V model and really like the looks. It has 3 different length middle sections so you can adjust it to whatever length suits you. I have seen no difference in radio reception since I put it on; I don't have nav., though.

When I bought mine at the auction I couldnt find the antennna( later found under seat track) so I took one of the antennas off of a new sebring convertible. I actually think it was from the satellite radio, but it fit, works great, and looks like what should have been installed in the first place. I actually didnt realize how ugly the factory roadster one was till I found my original one!

No you're not wrong. The NAV antenna is not the radio antenna. I have one I bought from TVT. Here's pic of the one that works well. He has two models. The other one I hear does not work well.

From Karmann. Just contact them, and they will send it to you.

There's a thread here on it. Just do a search on Karmann and you'll find it.

Good to know Paul. Riot has one here in Illinois, and he tells me it doesn't work for him. He only uses it for shows.

The only issue I have is when we are way out in the sticks in the "Hill Country" when I am down in the valleys and I had issues there with the factory one. I have not swapped them back to check the difference. It may work worse than I think though because I listen to CD's a lot.

I have the same 16V antenna and am using the shortest extension piece in it. I have noticed no change in radio reception and no difference when using the NAV system - although I don't believe this is the antenna used for the NAV so it shouldn't impact that anyway.

Oh, and the silver color is a great match for the rest of the silver trim on the car - windshield surround, wheels, fender strakes, rool hoops.

It's basically a roll hoop but with two "o's" instead of two "l's". In other words, a typo. Sorry.
