Default Fluttering Heat Gauge

I recently purchase a 2006 Roadster Limited Crossfire. When I turn the ignition on or off the heat gauge indicator flutters and makes a clicking noise for 10 to 15 seconds. Is this normal and does anyone else have this happening? The dealer said this was normal and that it was just the system "waking up". This really does not sound right to me because I'm old but even I don't flutter when I wake up!! Thanks for any help.

This isn't normal. I don't listen to dealers because they don't want to work on Crossfire's. I'm already having trouble with them trying to deny warranty work. This is when I call the Attorney General.

Are you talking about the water temperature gauge or the button immediately above the shifter? The latter will light and click as it determines whether there is a body in the passenger seat so it knows whether to fire off one or both airbags when you crash. None of the other instrumentation should click or make noises.

My car has a deployment key switch on the passenger's door jam that I would think determined if the passenger's airbag shot out.

That keyswitch in the doorjam is for disabling the airbag when you have a baby/child in a carseat or booster seat. You don't want the airbag crushing your little snookums.
