Default Which would you choose

My roadster got totalled last night, replacement time now. Here's the $64,000 question..

roughly same money, do you:

1) go for a 2005 SRT6 Roadster with around 30k miles
2) go for a 2007 limited loaded roadster brand new off the lot..full warranty, etc..

I loved my base roadster and really love having a six speed... what would you do? Either way, what can I do to get the windshield pillars body color? Can't do a proper Batman theme with that silver... do those panels pop off for painting?

I just read your other thread about the totaled car. Sorry to hear about it but glad to know you weren't hurt.
Is this car your daily driver? If so, I highly recommend you test drive the SRT-6 to make sure you are comfortable with the tighter suspension.

decide if you want additional power with higher cost due to no warranty or same power with low cost due to warranty.

I had Eibach lowering springs on mine and would be putting them back on either the SRT or the limited. Is the SRT suspension a lot tighter than a limited with Eibach's? I doubt I would be able to test drive the SRT as there don't seem to be any local, probably be a sight unseen deal through my dealer.

Just how different are the daily driving characteristics of the SRT vs the Limited?

I like the feel of my SRT and don't think it's too harsh.
Drove a base XF and noticed body lean while taking corners.
I'll stick to the SRT suspension.

More than likely the 2007 has some lifetime goodies attached and would be my choice my wife and I have both as secondary cars (or toys) hers 2005 Ltd roadster purchased July 2006 with 9000 mi now has 46,000, mine or rather ours 2005 SRT roadster purchased Sept 2006 with 5200 mi now has just over 10,000 however we don't have the driving skills or great roadways to get the full benifits of the SRT- do you? be honest with yourself if so go for it but know in advance you will most definitely pay more for the SRT down the road you really can't go wrong either way good luck and keep the faith

If Chrysler goes belly up, which it keeps leaning that way, the warranty won't matter.

Yeah, the Gov. says they're going to take care of warranty coverage... but there'll be stipulations and limits.

Get the SRT. If we could've afforded the SRT when we purchased our roadster it would've been a no-brainer.

Shop around though, there are so many of these great cars with low mileage being basically given away now. Don't rush your decision.

Do what feels right.
Yes the pillers can be painted.
I too like my base, If I had a SRT I would be getting tickets.
The base & limited are fast.

I would go SRT......

But if you really love the stick....and will hate the auto, get what you like to DRIVE.
That is the important part.

(Test drive a SRT anyway)

It would be a mistake to pass up an SRT.

What are the prices on the '07 and the SRT?
If you go SRT, the Eibachs will not work well on a SRT6 Roadster. For some reason they will work on the SRT6 coupes and all other variants, just not the SRT6 roadster.

By man's nature, the SRT could be beaten to death by 30K, ready to break. Go for the warranty.

BTW: the 2007 was probably manufactured in 2005, just like the rest of em'.
