Default Power outlet not working

Hi All

Has anyone else had any issues with their power outlet/cigarette lighter not working? I bought my roadster a few months back, and recently discovered that nothing works when I plug it into the power outlet. I must admit I'venot yet checked the fuse, but I noticed in the manual that it's the same fuse as the glove compartment light, and that's working fine, so I figure that the fuse must be okay.

Anyone have any suggestions of what I might be able to do to get it working?

Thanks

James

Have you had the engine running to see if it works then.
It is switched with the ignition.

Its one of the things I have to have replaced. Mine fell apart, literally. So the receptical needs to be replaced. I hate going to the dealer for these type of things, I'm gonna try and buy the part myself and replace it first. If that doesn't work then I'll have to get the dealer involved.

I've had my power outlook working without fail for years, and I'm always drawing upon current on it to charge my cell phone.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think mine is most definitely broken. With the engine running, I still get nothing, and the glovebox light comes on just fine, so the fuse is fine too I guess.

One VERY unfortunate side affect to having a broken power outlet hadn't occured to me until last night. I had a puncture yesterday. Had to wait 3 hours for the roadside assistance guy to come out to me, just so I could use his power outlet to power my tirefit kit.

mine just crapped out also.
something got stuck in it and blew fuse - I replaced fuse and still no power - glove light works so I guess it may be burnt out internally.
I will have to replace fuse with plastic face included? It sounds like a pia to replace it. I searched and seems the whole center dash has to be removed first
where can i find a replacement outlet?

Yeah mine did the same thing I changed 3 fuses to find out the outlet itself was giving the short sirquit. I know for sure it is my outlet, now the big question is. Where can I find this part? I was thinking of fixing it myself but that thing was not met to be fixed. I guess when the pump tells you don't use it loger than a certain time, it means it because the plastic in the outlet is melted I guess it melted the plastic between the - and + charge.
