Talking 1st new mod for Angel...

I noticed on OKC Xfire's car that the badge was on the third brake light, under the wing. I liked it, it looked very neat and where the designers should have put it there in the first place.
Smfrycruzr happened to be the one that I conned into doing the rebadging.
Here is a few pictures of Angel's first mod.

I am just SO afraid I"m gonna ruin the paint by taking the letters off ........... but posts like this just get me right back to it: I LIKE how that looks.

That white looks nice, and the INTERIOR pic you posted makes the car look "rich".

Looks great! It has been a while but I think i cut my old letters off with fishing line. Was easy to do and did not hurt the paint at.

I like the look especially with the night shot and taillights.

Dental Floss I have - but not fishing line.

I'll work on getting up the nerve to try...

I used fishing line and a blow dryer. wave it back and forth a little. but not too much. Wiggle the fishing line behind the letters and it just kinda cuts through the glue. A microfiber towel and some bug and tar remover took care of the rest.

Make sure the dental floss is not the waxy kind or it may be a pain in the *** . Also, like was stated, heating with a hair dryer helps, as well as heating water on the stove or microwave (just not TOO hot) and slowly pouring it over the area will loosen the glue in the same way. Then use the floss or fishing line behind them and they will come right off. Buy some 3M wax and adhesive remover at the auto parts store, spray it on and let it sit for some time, just watch it so that it does not dry completely. After spraying a few times, rewetting, and waiting, you residue should come right off with very little resistance. Good luck Mark.

Ok, MAYBE by the fall Dragon I will have done it. I guess the idea is to use the floss to separate the letters from the glue and the cleaner to then remove the glue! Got it, that sounds safe for the paint.

So now I am gonna "debadge" and "rebadge" and get a new battery before the Dragon.

Ordered a cover like Deb's new one on eBay today.

I'm almost ready.

The kind Deb Walker bought and liked!

When I ordered there were two left, looks like someone else got the other one.

A heat gun and strong fingers will take them right off. Some adhesive or bug and tar remover will finish it off. Of all the emblems I have removed over the years, I have yet to see any paint damage.

When I did mine, there was a noticeable difference in the clearcoat finish after the letters were removed - you could tell that the letters used to be there if you looked at the right angle. I used Meguiar's Scratch-X 2.0 onthe area (had to go over it 3 times by hand) and all traces of the lettering disappeared.
