Kleemann Crossfire 330hp ?
Has anyone ventured into the Kleemann Tuning experts for Crossfires? There is a shop in Colorado Springs that does this all day long for Merc 320's that came without a supercharger, but I think the Crossfire could use a small HP bump to 330hp....
I contacted Kleemann several months ago about this. They replied at the time that they have not yet done a Crossfire but thought it would be no problem. I remember the cost being around $8k. Do a search for my other posts - I think I copied his email into my post.
OK - I called Brandon at Kleemann. They have done a couple Crossfires. He says it's a SLK Conversion, fits very neatly under the hood, real sleeper. Turns the sluggish old Crossfire into about 340 hp vicious little monster when done. He has experience in conversions already. They don't ship the kit however, they only do conversions at thier shop. Drive your car out there, stay in a real nice B&B in the Springs, two days later you have a new car! For information:

Did he say anything about the cost of the conversion? Are there any mods made to the transmission and drivetrain to handle the power? And, does it void the factory warranty?
Once again, I drive a Mercedes, not a Crossfire, so I cant say what Chrysler will do. Mercedes honors thier warranty, and extended warranty even though my V-8 is supercharged. The transmission does not need to be beefed, it's the same tranny as a SLK 320, and it can handle the power. The fuel supply does need to be increased in pressure. Kleemann handles all of this, as they have been supercharging Merc engines for years. I will say that Viper owners are VERY surprised by my Mercedes. Corvette owners are baffled also. The only badging I have on my car is a little "kompressor" badge on the back right trunk. One problem I do have is tires. I have WAY too much hp for the Continentals on the car, now looking at Proxies. - Good luck - Dave
The reply i received from kleemann on 7/22:
Thank you for contacting KLEEMANN USA! We do indeed offer supercharger systems for the crossfire, however, it is priced at $9500.00 plus installation. Our kompressor system will bring your Crossfire up to the SRT-6 power levels- 330 HP and 325 TQ. Our supercharger runs 7 PSI of boost and uses a patented air to water intercooler. Installation typically runs in the $1300-1500.00 range. The supercharger must be installed by an authorized KLEEMANN dealer. Although this is a bolt-on system, each of our dealers has been personally trained by a master KLEEMANN technician on proper installation and tuning procedures due to the complexity of installation.

I'm glad to see that others are looking to upgrade the engine specs. with aftermarket parts... I made a different decision after my extensive research and decided to order an SRT and trade... Then I can play with a 330 hp engine and try and trick that out, easier than trying to take our 215 to 330...
You can add 17 HP from the 330 HP if you also upgrade your camshaft for $4100 gaining a total of 347 HP for $15000. I would trust Kleemann to do my upgrades since this is solely what they do most- Merc mods. You may find it cheaper in the future in a do it yourself kit but your engine's lifespan depends in how well you mod your car. Just my 2 cents
Thanks for the update 61...did he happen to say why they are no longer providing this product for XF's? From the threads above, it looks as though they were doing them at some point.
Once the cost of travel and lack of other SRT6 upgrades in this upgrade are considered a valid alternative would be to buy a used SRT6. In that way you would be paying less to have a better more integrated and proven package.
The SRT6 is more than just a supercharger bolt on. Engine internals were beefed up, too. Brakes are larger, exhaust is different, etc. Look for a well-treated used SRT6.
