yes , i am the one who "lost" her crossfire in hinsdale il to the burlington express train in february
i did have all season tires and sand, and yes was driving in w
hinsdale slacked on their snow removal at the crossing, car was mechanically fine had crossed those tracks m-f for the last 10 years 3 of them in the crossfire
loved my car but alas had to watch its destruction
happy to report found a fraternal twin and am now back to driving a crossfire(although a bit more in debt uggggh)
glad to know there is so much knowledge on the forum to help us out mechanically as it made the decision to repurchase possible

Welcome to the forum. I was sorry to hear of the accident, but I am also glad that it resulted in you finding out about our wonderful community. I love my crossfire, but it is this forum that completes the experience for me. I hope that you will find that it does the same for you.
double up on what GDC and Ty said, most of all you are ok. I can only imagine the look on your face the moment before the now demised Cross was impacted by the train. You can always get another car, and pay off any debt. Glad you're back with us.
Well it certainly was one of the most horrific, and tragic end of a Crossfire I remember reading about on this forum. Thankfully you made it out safe and sound, but I can't even imagine what you felt seeing your car demolished right before your eyes. (I know it's only a car, and replaceable, but most of us are really attached to our personal rides just the same).
Good Luck with your new one, be safe, and welcome to the forum.
