Default Crossfire now IS a wreck...

A few topics down I was complaining about my windshield wiper fluid leak...I wish that was my only problem.

A 70 yr old woman was blinded by the sun (could have stopped, she didn't even screetch her brakes) smashed my driver front panel just in front of the wheel, she was only going 15 mph but had a pickup truck and got hardly any damage! My hood is bent and there's some collateral damage from the impact on the passenger front panel. No air bag deploy.

I'm thinking its done for, totalled. People tell me that manufactures have to make parts for a car up to 10 years after its discontinued, is this true?

It is a red 2008 roadster limited convertible only 15k miles had it a year, is it possible for me to get body parts from someone on this site? Does anyone know of a junkyard that has crossfires?

Thanks much, and please pray that I don't jump off a bridge, it really hurts right now...

Not another one!
I'm thinking about parking my Crossfires until this recent rash of accidents is over!

If I hadn't gotten clipped back after woodward, I'd have mine in storage right now! Hopefully it's like chicken pox though, get it once and never again.

Wow, sorry to hear about this. It has certainly been an awful week for Crossfire owners. I can tell from the tone of your post you love your car. Good luck in getting it sorted out. Keep us posted.

Let the Insurance Company take care of it!

Mine was in the garage. Didn't save it. But if you do park it, you might want to steer clear of the garage/tomb. Ya' never know when an airplane or satellite might fall out of the sky. Do you know where any bunkers, or bomb shelters are?

Tough break, man. I live in fear of the careless idiot. Let the insurance company handle it and find a good body shop. They have access to used parts and the good news is that most Crossies are not driven in the winter, so salt damage is a minimal concern. Good luck. (PS, my daughter's A4 was struck on all 4 right hand panels and they were able to find used doors that look great. They were able to repair the quarter panels. It's black and you cannot tell there was ever damage.)

Found a body shop that does other "speciality" cars like Jags and Porsches.

Insurance Co. and body shop told me today it WILL NOT be totaled, fingers crossed.

The lady that hit me tried to go to the dr claiming injury, my insurance co. told me, and the dr told her there's nothing wrong with her...redneck just trying to get some pain pills.

Glad to hear they're going to be able to fix it. Given the rash of crossies getting hit this week, I'd be suprised if there wasn't a good fender and hood available for the replacement / repair. Some of the guys are buying them back and then parcing them out for parts. A number of threads on here you may want to check out.

As far as the culprit, it doesn't suprise me she's trying to get something out of it. But then what do you expect from a "neck".......

Good luck. Can't afford to park mine. Need it to get to work. My son is using my other car.

my junk yard dog still hasn't stumbled onto one, but once he does the barn is getting loaded up....with what ever is salvageable....he mainly does motors, trannys, and rear ends, so, the body panels are open season for me....I am hoping to get one soon...just in case...parts are drying up....

Man I really feel bad about your crossfire accident. That said, I resemble the redneck and we all don't go out looking for crossfires to hit. Let's be a little more tolerant of us Rednecks we are not all bad. Yes, I drive a pick-up truck, talk about hunting and fishing watch stock car races. I also drive a crossfire work on it and talk about it and I love it. Anyone who knows me will tell you I will go out of my way to help anyone with anything. Ignorance is ignorance that's the name it should be called. Okay I am off my soapbox now, sorry if I have offended anyone with his post.
