Questions about TSBs and Gasline Anti-Freeze
I had asked in an earlier thread, about how hard my roof came down on the windshield. Several members urged me to resolve this - using my left hand to "catch" the roof before it hit down on the car. That seems to work well and I am happy to have had their thoughts. I also found that a TSB exists called TBS: 13-Dec-05 - 23-019-05A - Body - Convertible Top is Hard to Close . It sounds as if this could be the same issue - but I cannot find any details on this TSB. I downloaded a list of TSBs from http://www.majormotorshotrods.com/_d...sfire_TSBs.zip but unfortunately it is not a part of this documentation. Can anyone provide details on the TSB that I referenced above about the Top being hard to close? I'd love to know if there was an official response in regard to this.
Meanwhile, I have filled the fuel tank with premium Shell gasoline and added 210ml of the Canadian Tire equivalent of fuel stabilizer. Does anyone have a comment about the need to put in Gasline Antifreeze during storage? Is there a need to use or to avoid isopropyl in this type of product?
Too, I guess the side windows should be lowered an inch to protect the freshly dressed rubber ... any thoughts on this?
As always, thanks for your guidance and counsel!

John,
Have you looked for this TSB here: http://www.majormotorshotrods.com/_d...sfire_TSBs.zip
edit: Sorry, I didn't realized that our link in the SRT6 Documentation section is from the same source that you had posted.

TSBs are not recalls. No action by law is required by the dealer. If you report the problem during the 3/36000 warranty they will fix it and bill Chrysler. Out of the 36/36000 it is my understanding you are out of luck. TSBs were posted free on the Internet BUT you now have to pay for them or go to a dealer to get a copy. You might try going to a parts place like Autozone to see if they have them in their computer system.
Here is how it worked with my wife's real Mercedes. I took it in for a B service and they noted a leak in my 4Matic seal and after the repair during the test run they noticed that the engine was not ideling correctly. This was a TSB and they reflashed the ECU and put in the latest version of the software. This is how Mercedes deals with TSBs. Cost zero. My experience with the Xfire is not as smooth.
When I store my Xfire cars for the winter I put in Stabil and gas line anti-freeze. It is so cheap and has no negative effect so why NOT do it. I do the same for my snowblower, chain saw, etc. No problems and they seem to be easier to start after storage. I also use anti-freeze in the gas line about ever other tank of gas for my winter driving cars especially when the temperature drops low.

stabil for the fuel and gummi pflege for the seals. this is bar none the best rubber lubricant you will find for your car. goes on wet dry to the touch with no slime or sticky feel and penetrates the seals to keep them from cracking. its all i use on my 32

Boy, you guys in FLA are really mean spirited!! First, you beat all of our hockey, baseball and basketball teams from Toronto - and now this!!! That is just mean!!
I'll be down there soon enough ... albeit probably in the Avalanche (in case it snows somewhere between Ohio and London)!
Thanks for the tip about Gummi Pflege, Krazy. I found a fellow here in Toronto who sells the product and I'll pick it up on Wednesday ($10).

Still plenty of room would love to have you and your money reside in Florida. We have no state income tax and need help eating up the excess Real Estate inventory. Come on down!!!
Tell me how you like your windscreen

I agree with Inferno, the Adamesh windscreen looks as though it was always destined to be on the car. It is really good looking. As far as the quiet factor goes - I haven't been for a topless highway ride with it on. However, my friend who drives an SL500, has one that is identical and he says the difference that the mesh screen makes is amazing.
Looks as if I'll be waiting until April to find out for sure.

I use both Sta-Bil and a bottle of gasline antifreeze when I hibernate the XFs. My roadster top requires a solid pull to completely close it when the car finishes it's routine. Just as recommended, I brace it with my free hand to prevent it from slamming down. I am sure this is normal.
