Roadster Top Hydraulic Fluid

I've been reading all the posts on the top's operation and have been trying to narrow my malfunctions cause. Perhaps I have missed it, but I can't find anywhere in the manual or posts here what type of hydraulic fluid is used in the system. Thanks in advance

Re: Roadster Top Hydraulic Fluid

The SERVICE MANUAL goes into this, I believe. You can download it in the "SRT6" area in a "Documentation" thread.
(The top and it's system is the same in all Roadsters, don't worry about the "SRT6" thing.)

But unless you have a fluid leak, I don't see the fluid as the answer. When the top is lowered, even after pressure is released, the tank is not "full". It's never FULL, so if you are seeing it about 1/2 full, you are seeing what is normal.

And if you have a thread here on your problem, it is best to post additional information like this in that thread - makes it easier for us to follow along with what is going on. I can't recall your problem, but then, I have spoken with SO many people on here about tops, it gets away from me. So you see, if you stick with the same thread, it helps. :)

Thanks for your insight Pizza. Sorry for breaking protocol with the location of my post. I don't want to confuse the issue anymore than it is. I'll check out the SRT 6 documentation and hopefully get a handle on this.
