There has been some discussion regarding MPG on the forum and the way it is figured. Well I just went over the numbers from my Tampa to Ohio trip and I took all of my receipts and figured each one between fill ups and the average MPG was 28.60 MPG. some higher some lower, but not by much. Top up and top down, a/c and no a/c (especially in Ohio!)
I did not believe this could be right and changed the batteries in my calculator. Same numbers.
I suppose when the cruise is set at highway speeds the MPG will always be better. Most of the time I had it set on 80+ but with restroom and food breaks my trip home of 1100 miles in 17 hours averages 64.71mph
Has anyone else come up with these kind of numbers?

I was just wondering how comfortable that long of a ride is in the Crossfire?

We also have Corvettes and they are so noisey that I can't imaging going on such a long trip in it.
But I have noticed that the road noise is MUCH less in the Crossfire. We don't have to raise our voices to talk, or turn the radio up really loud to hear it!

After 17 straight hours I felt fine. I could have easily gone further. The ride was very comfortable. Even with the top down I didn't feel as worn out as I have in other drop tops I've owned. I could hear comedy channel 150XM with no problem either, I'm sure everyone I passed was wondering what the hell I was laughing at the whole way home.

I just got back from a NJ to IN to NJ trip and I was VERY pleased with the ride. It was a 13 hour trip each way and I must say it was very comfortable. I haven't worked out the mileage yet but will do so this evening.

Over 9075 miles to date my average is 24.8 MPG. Day one of the recent Mountain Run Crossup (mostly open roads, 141 miles) I got 28.7 MPG. Day two (mostly twisty mountainous roads, 280 miles) I got 25.4 MPG.

Most of my fillups have been in the 25-27 MPG range. I've spent $688 on fuel to date, averaging ~63 miles per day, at an approximate cost of 7.6 cents per mile.

(Yes Connie, I've made some improvements to the spreadsheet to give me more info ).

 

these numbers for gas milage , in my opinion, should qualify us for some sort of tax deduction based on our cars ability to save fuel and help the economy.
I'm writing my congressman.

 

Good info David - and I have been using the spreadsheet too - but I lost some of my data so it's not as complete as yours! :wink:

 

heehee... I'm just happy my results are better than the EPA estimates, and far better than I EXPECTED to get. Premium fuel ain't cheap... This is the first car I've owned that did BETTER than the EPA numbers.

And here's a secret for you readers...the spreadsheet I referred to has revealed to me that driving in W mode will get you about 1.5-3 MPG better in city driving. Just don't forget to flip it back to S mode when you want to play... 8)

 

I'm still missing the receipts from my first two tanks of fuel. I know I have them somewhere, prolly with my sales paperwork.
