Mesh Style Windscreen Still Available?
Mesh Style Windscreen Still Available?
Now that I've decided that I want a mesh style wind screen, it seems the two suppliers that I am familiar with on the forum, are either out of business (tuneingshop.co.uk) or now only sell Jaguar accessories (Adamesh). Are there any suppliers that still sell one for the Crossfire? In one post I read someone had purchased one for an SLK320. I can't imagine that it fit correctly. I want the fullsize type that goes behind your head, not the type that only attaches between the roll bars.

Yes I ordered mine online. Google translate helped me with the language barrier. The price dropped for me too. The VAT tax dropped off.

I have made my order for the mesh wind screen that Harbor mentioned from Germany. I said our club has shown an interest in these screens and he said there have been four orders recently all being shipped out soon. I asked for a club discount and he said ok 10%

In the last email that I received from Max Stein, he wrote: "For all members of your forum get 10% discount from us. Password: Nitup" Since I had placed my order before mention of the discount, I have not asked for the discount. Hopefully this thread will save other members somewhere around $15.00. I'm looking forward to receiving and testing my windscreen before spring.
Re: Mesh Style Windscreen Still Available?
I received my windscreen in today's US Mail. Only 17 days from date of order to delivery from Ger many. I wasn't expecting to receive it until mid February. Fantastic! I was quite worried when I saw the package. It looked like it had been crushed and bent in half. I was very happy when I opened it and it was in perfect condition. I'll post some more pictures after I install it next weekend.

Here are some pictures of my new windscreen. I like the look. I think it looks like an item that should have been standard equipment when Karmann built our automobiles. One downside is that I may be loosing a little legroom. I am 6'-5" with a 38" inseam and need all of the legroom I can get. The seat is touching the windscreen.

I'm tall too and can assure you that these windscreens do not reduce the leg room.

Unboxed and installed today.
No damage to box or unit.
5 min install behind umbrella hooks with T25 torx .
It rests against the roll over hoops, it doesn't fill the valley between the hoops completely. There is a small gap at the bottom where the bolts hold the screen to the bracket.
Overall looks good, with metal frame covered in 'leatherette' and good visibility through the fine mesh.
