Convertible top - trunk separator bracket l/s
Re: Convertible top - trunk separator bracket l/s
experiencing intermittent top function also. tore the covering off the left side to expose the switch and think i discovered a couple of issues. first the "tongue" that lifts and forces the panel end into the switch seems to not be as long as that one in your pictures. secondly (and admittedly the these old eyes may not be as good at picking up things as you can get with the close up picture that you took and i never thought to do that myself, lol) it appeared to my naked eye that the tip on the switch that the contact strip engages isn't as long as the one you pictured. i would guess it is probably original and has seen a good deal of use over the years. looks like i will remove the covering once again and take some close up pictures to get a better feel of how it all matches your photos. many thanks to you both for the descriptions and pictures.

thanks. i will take come close ups myself to see how they compare to those you posted. initially, i just wanted to insured that the lockout switch was actually there as it is extremely difficult to engage (i think due to the reduced (and probably partially broken) little tongue that is there to insure proper engagement by the panel left end piece. can't get to it for a few days, but i will definitely examine it closer. thanks again
