Default Shopping for new top

Decided to start looking for a replacement top for the roadster. Found prices from high 7 hundreds to 2 grand. I'll take any advice anyone has to offer. Thinking maybe even a dark blue instead of black. Doesn't someone on here have a blue one, I seem to remember seeing a picture.

Does the price you quote include installation of is it just the top? I am also looking to replace my top. I have heard good things about Gahh tops but I have no direct experience. I have an estimate including installation for a Gahh top at $2100. I will need to go to another shop to get another estimate for comparison. My rear window fell out this spring and it really limits when I can drive the car.

Those were part only pricing. I looked at the Gahh website, very nice top, same material as original. I can get a factory Chrysler top at employee pricing thru dealership I used to work at but it is over $1400. Don't know if a new top from Chrysler would have any better bonding or not. The best price I found was thru topsonline.com, fabric looks the same but I'm not sure it is. They are sending me swatches to look at. They have lifetime warranty on window bond and six years on the top itself.

Managed to pick this up on ebay for 300GBP or approx 370USD. Brand new mohair with heated glass and all molded plastic attachments. Bargain!!! More of a burgundy than red.

these guys are beyond good by the way as they supply to Aston Martin and Jaguar etc
price is 750USD plus shipping I believe for our hoods ;-)

And the shipping seems to be $125, so all in at $875 with a lifetime window warranty and color choices, not too bad at all .......

( PLUS you don't have to remove your old top and send it so they can use the plastic pieces )

Stevie - Let us know how the installation goes and how the final product looks. I'm getting a blue top when my OEM black wears out, and this looks like a great option.
Thanks!

Bob, the SRT6 service manual PDF is almost spot-on regarding the top replacement.
I printed the pages out, put them in clear punched holders and into a notebook.
I have now used that 3 times.
2 things not clear in the PDF :
1. you have to "re-pinch" the groves in the top frame so the weatherseal pieces stay in good.
2. Pay very careful attention to perfectly centering the top on the bow frame.
Also, use a ShopVac next to the SHARP drill bit while drilling out the rivets to prevent a mess.

ala_xfire I think you forgot the 20% VAT which brings to total to $897 US plus shipping.

Sorry, stevieb did the original price post.

Hmmmmm.
I thought that if it was sold to the US, there was no VAT.
Guess I was wrong.

I'm not a Brit (although I'm considering moving there after Tuesday's election), but my Adamesh windscreen was shipped from GB without a VAT in 2012. My understanding was that VAT didn't apply to the US, but not sure post-Brexit.

From Brighton Accountants ( VAT between the UK and the USA )

Exporting goods to the USA

Most goods exported to the States can be zero-rated for UK VAT purposes (that is, VAT does not need to be added), as long as documentary evidence of the export is kept. Any extra charges made for freight, shipping, postage or delivery are also zero-rated.

Don't you just love that detached window thing, that was only going to happen to the group of Roadsters, by Vin Number, that went to only 9 States??
Our Gahh top was installed in 2013 at a local shop. Paid a little more than your quote, had to replace the 2 fabric "stays" from Stealership, due mostly to heat, I think. Lifetime warranty, to us, on the window bond.
Car had about 60k miles then. Still looking good.

Just sent this company an email to see if they'd consider a group buy discount.
Will report back with their response.
