Re: Bad rear speaker Xfire roadster
Ye,a the rears are dual voice coil speakers. Not east to find. But the "Roadster" forum is the wrong place to find your answer. I THINK the thread that documents all the replacement options is under "Audio and Video"...
I can't find it right now, but I know there is a thread where several of us listed the available aftermarket speakers.

I went to a professional audio installer for this very reason. They wanted to put a subwoofer box behind the passenger seat making it so that there is even less leg room than what a stock Crossfire has. I am 5-10 and I have to drive with the seat all the way back and that still is not enough.
Or they suggested taking a saw to the rear bulkhead and making the openings larger. That was the least objectional idea.
Or putting a sub box in the trunk and making it boom through the rear bulkhead. The trunk space in a roadster with the top down is very limited as it is.
There has to be a better way.

Re: Bad rear speaker Xfire roadster
Went to the Chrysler dealer that has been servicing my Xfire and has Xfire mechanics. They told me that the speaker behind the driver side that I need is no longer available but the passenger side speaker is. Unfortunately the driver side has the sub woofer. They use an independent company that installs upgraded sound systems for their vehicles and I was later told that it would cost me $1,300.00 to get the job done with a separate sub woofer installed who knows where. Imfink2 says he bought a Kicker 43CWRT672 and I had previously found a Kicker speaker on line for $74.99 that was the 671 model. I will check with the auto stereo specialist tomorrow to see what he suggests. Any way you cut it, it will be expensive.

Honestly guys, there is not enough sticky threads in the audio section (many others as well for various information) and sometimes the threads are so disorganized that's it's hard to find factual and accurate information. Search all you want but it's a pain in the ***.

I went to 2 auto stereo places one in Orlando that I used before and another one that I just discovered in Altamonte Springs that is 10 minutes or less from where i live in Longwood. The first place was not interested in viewing the installation video and the person I spoke with was one of those guys that moves fast and seems to miss details and said he didn't need to watch how it was done as he already knew. He wanted $447.26 which is much less than the Chrysler dealer's $1,300. The second place nearer to where I live had a packed shop with BMW's, other upscale vehicles and even a 20's era Ford. The person I spoke with, I suspect the owner, agreed to watch the video and took note of the speakers and how the enclosure was modified. He then brought out the speakers which he had in stock and gave me a price of $338.00 plus tax. I think I will go with this guy.
